My senior cat drinks so much now!
I’ve had this for nearly a year now, after having a few other fountains. My younger cats don’t have an issue drinking from standing bowls or fountains, but my senior isn’t much of a drinker. He loves this thing though. He’s always at it, which makes me feel good because he needs his fluids!
I’m not the best at keeping up with the cleaning so the plastic ones aren’t my friend. The ones where you have to lift off the lid are also a little bit of a hassle for me to fill/know when the water is low, so being able to pour it right into the bowl is a dream. Easy to clean and maintain! Holds a good amount of water — I top it off every 36-48 hours it seems with 3 cats. Since there’s no lid, there’s minimal splashing and mess when refilling or reassembling after cleaning.
I just bought a second one. Very pleased.

Great purchase!
This fountain was very easy to assemble and it very quiet, it took my cat a few days to figure it out but once she did she has been drinking so much more and not at the sinks all of the time to have me turn the faucet on so she can get a drink.

Look closely.
The steel is very thin, making the entire fountain very fragile. Also, if I had recognized beforehand the fact that the basin is shaped like a bedpan, I probably would not have bought it.

Is it normal to see parts of the metal turning colors? Stainless doesn't rust, right? - it appears where the cone meets the bowl. It doesn't come off when scrubbed.
- I've had mine for over a year and I haven't had any issues like this, or any issues--it has been hands down the best pet fountain I've owned. Maybe you have a high mineral content in your water. You could try a chemical rust remover.

Possibly a dumb question, but is this compatible with dental health water additives or will the filter remove the additive?
- Thank you for your question. The carbon filters are not designed to "purify" the water. They cannot remove particulates or other liquids dissolved in the water; they rather remove unwanted tastes and odors to keep the water smelling and tasting fresh for your pet. Dental additive should not be filtered out of the water.

We have bad water(even with water filer). can I use vinegar to clean this fountain?
- First and most important is confirming wether Vinegar (in any quantity) is toxic for cats. From all the research I undertook it’s clear the answer is ‘Plain Vinegar is not Toxic to cats’. Be careful of variations such as Apple Cider Vinegar as there seeks to be less agreement (across the online community) whether these are also safe. With that most important factor sorted, then suggest the following approach: 1. Spray Vinegar directly onto the stainless steel / metal parts of the bowl and leave to sit for 30-60 minutes 2. At the same time soak the non stainless steel/metal parts (pump, rubber pump base and filter sponge) in a solution of 50:50 filtered water:vinegar for 30-60 minutes 3. After 30-60 minutes proceed to gently scrub every surface and corner of the bowl and parts then rinse extremely thoroughly. Rinsing must include running fresh water through the operational pump for at least 5 mins. 4. Leave all parts to air dry for at least another 60 minutes……to ensure any minute vinegar residue evaporates. 5. Reassemble and refill with fresh water. And last but not least, remember to put out a temporary bowl of fresh water for kitty whilst you undertake the deep clean. Hope this helps, it has been a success in our house for several years.

Can you use this without needing filters I already have filtered water at home and don't want to have to constantly clean or change filters.
- Thank you for this question. Yes, our Seaside Stainless Pet Fountain can function without filters. However, even when using filtered water your fountain will need more frequent cleanings without the use of filters. This is due to other debris such as pet saliva, food particles, fur, etc. collecting in the fountain from typical pet use.

I see from the image that filter & pump are underneath the cone so does the power cord go through the dish and underneath the base or does it have to sit on top & across the water dish? The “working” images do not reflect the power cord.
- The cord is fed down a tube with a rubber seal. It then runs under the fountain and out the back to the wall plug. Very neat solution.

Has anyone had a problem with the pump? I've had it a little over a month and today the pump is completely kaput. I'm wondering if there's a way to reboot it.

Can a small dog access the water from the bowl part or just from top part where the water comes out of the opening.
- Thank you for your great question.The lip of the bowl is about 3 inches high, and the center tower is about 6 inches tall. If your dog can reach this, then he should be able to drink from the top of the fountain if he wants.
