I’ve only had this item for a couple of weeks but so far I love it — I detest scooping poop and pee so it’s nice just taking out the full bag and putting in a new one! The litter seems to last longer also. So far so good!

When it works it is great, but I feel like I am struggling to get it to work. I wish there was more help on the manual, right now my box is saying one and that the inferred light is blocked, but I do not know where that is. Also to refill the box you are supposed to press the button for three seconds and then it tells you to refill. This does not work and I usually spend about 30 minutes every week trying to get it to work.

My one and only issue is that after about 2 months of use it has now stopped showing me any sort of data in the app. I know my cats are using it and I know it dumping what they’ve done into the litter pan because I have eyes and can see what’s been done but the big issue is that I’m now not reviewing data and I would like to see which cat is using the litter robot and which one is using the regular one. I did end up taking my sphere off and outside to wash it recently to see if it would give me some data and because I was moving houses. Other than not giving me the data I do like the litter robot. I work over nights 12.5 hour shifts so I’m not always able to scoop the litter box and this makes my job a lot easier

Had the Smartspin for a couple of weeks now, and it works great. We also own the most popular brand, and this unit seems just as good to me. I did a deep clean on it today and it only took about 10 minutes or so. The app works well and messages me when the litter bin is full. Hard to find anything wrong with it so far.

This has been a disaster since day one. I thought it was the crystal litter I was using, so I switched to corn and I could not believe how bad could to go worse so quickly. There's plenty of reasons to choose anything else besides the SmartSpin, but my main issue is how the litter box will just have "little accidents" when the pee rocks don't go down the hole: they then get carried upward as the globe spins back into place, and deposited into the side walls. After it's accumulated enough, I notice a pile of pee rocks all over the floor. I open the side panel, and out drips a week's worth of crumbly pee. Meanwhile, the waste drawer is barely halfway full... This has happened every week for 6 straight months. This thing is a war crime, and I absolutely will never buy from PetSafe again. I hate that they stole my money, and instead of giving me a self-cleaning litter box, they gave this cheap imitation.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I wanted to add a review since all i saw were free product reviews. I was skeptical since it was pricey but way cheaper than a litter robot! I kept my cats old litter box next to it for the first two days and used some of her used litter to get her scent in the new box and put a few treats in a bowl and put it inside so she would jump in. That worked like a charm and now she uses it regualtly

Do you have to have an app for it to run. I don't want it on my phone or computer. Just want to set up and have it work great. Is that possible?
