I bought this litterbox about a month ago and I have to clean out the poop area every few days. This does not stop smell! If I could give it zero stars I would.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good size, not too big. Really clever design. I’m really hopeful that my indoor-outdoor cat will use this during the rainy season where - when, uninterested in being outside wet - he tends to relieve himself in the bathtub. I dislike cat litter and all of its evils as much as my cat, and I believe this little invention is going to save our sanity this winter.

It worked amazingly for about 2 months, no odor, and it was highly efficient. However, after that, the rake would just drag the waste to the back of the box instead of the waste trap which rendered it no better than a manual litter box.

While I love the ability to clean the rake, my cat's poop gets stuck behind the rake and stays in the box. It does evenly spread out the litter when it clears but the sight of a dirty litter box can be unsettling. I've tried moving the rake but it doesn't seem to help.

We have had a PetSafe ScoopFree Original (purple lid) litter box for about five years and it worked great. After a recent move with a decided to stick with PetSafe an upgrade to the newest generation. Unfortunately, with current design flaws, we cannot recommend this product at all. Firstly, it’s the design of the plastic cover hood that appears to have a tight fit to the plastic frame, however its curvature causes all of the cat pee to pool in the crevices of the plastic frame, instead of going down into the litter (as pictured). Secondly, little plastic tabs on the sides that can be used to remove the metal rake for cleaning are not tight with the rest of the plastic frame. Again, this causes significant amount of cat pee to pool and those crevices that are nearly impossible to clean leading to bad smells. Finally, while the design of the new litter box looks slick, the plastic frame has a very tight fit over the cardboard that contains litter. This often time causes damage to the sides of the cardboard, causing spills of the litter. All of these flaws, make this product really hard to like, especially at this price point, so it’s a 1/5.

I had the older version of this with the purple top and loved it. This one is good but not as good. It is harder to clean. It leaks through the seams of the top and bottom. It was really a mess after one week of use. I preferred the older version.
