With the ScoopFree Crystal Pro Front-Entry Self-Cleaning Litter Box, there's no scooping, cleaning or refilling your cat's litter box for weeks. It uses crystal litter that provides 5 times better odor control than traditional clumping litter by absorbing urine and dehydrating solid waste. This low-tracking litter also helps keep your floors clean because it is 99% dust free and doesn't stick to your cat's paws. Safety sensors ensure that the scooping cycle only occurs when your cat is out of box. It uses disposable trays that have a plastic lining to help protect against leaking, and each tray comes with a lid for quick and easy disposal. Just remove the tray and throw it away. There's even a health counter that tracks how many times your furry feline uses the box, which is a convenient way to detect early signs of a health issue, and the included privacy cover gives your cat a secluded bathroom. PetSafe brand is here to help you and your pet live happy together.

Ordered it as it showed in stock but the order was canceled by Petco within an hour. Huge waste of time. Now I have to verify the refund was received.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Easy peasy and no more scooping! My cat used it right away without the top and then we put the top on, he had no fear.

Great for 1 cat, not multiple

My husband and I bought this a couple of weeks ago and it works okay, but the tray needs replacing every few days with us having 2 cats that use it regularly. It's way more expensive to replace the whole tray every few days than it was to just scoop and replace litter myself. If you have 1 cat, I'm sure this would be a great investment but it just can't handle 2 cats. The sifter itself also gets stuck a lot and doesn't scrape all of the clumps, I still have to go and scoop daily like I would with a normal litter box.

Problems with scoopfree

I have had alot of stopping issues, that requires unplugging and then plugging it back in. Scoop arm is dragging and getting stuck. First stop of run there is a loud bang noise. Then it finishes run back to the beginning. This happens with each run.very annoying. I feel the idea and concept is sound, maybe I just received a bad unit. Thx

Not what it seems

I bought this a month ago with an open mind. It says that the literal last 20 to 30 days for one cat, only lasted 10 days till it started smelling horribly. The poop backs up and get stuck in the grading system that goes across the litter and then you have to take your time and clean it. I would not recommend this product. It’s not what it seems.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] She was understanding since my litter box was not working as efficiently as it had previously so she offered me a good discount and I replaced it with a new one for my six month old kitty.

Ok for smaller cats I think

Had it for about a year and not really that impressed. Our cat is older and bigger I.e. longer. He ends up pooping behind or on the tines of the rake a lot. If not that he goes in head first and poops on the plastic flip up cover where the waste is stored. It makes clean up more of a hassle rather than less.

No, I do not recommend this product.

6+ years and still going strong

Washington Cat Mom

I have this product for over 6 years and have two cats and love it. It just recently started getting louder so so I am thinking of replacing it. I was reading people’s reviews and had to make one. I bought this is 2018 when I moved from the city to the woods in a log cabin and didn’t want my cat going outside anymore because of the wildlife. He eventually was allowed but used this. I then got a kitten who I didn’t allow outside at all so this is theirs now. I’ve moved 4 times and this litter box has been phenomenal the whole time. With two cats I change the litter once a week after about 40-50 uses. I have the permanent tray and buy the litter for $22 for two bags of litter off Amazon. (both items are petsafe brand). The tray helped a lot with the smell and I switched from the regular blue crystals to the sensitive (white) ones. And only notice that it need to be changed after coming back from vacation for 10 days. I honestly can’t recommend this self cleaning box more. It’s been worth the investment 1000 times over. December will be 7 years I’ve owned this one box and it’s starting to wear out (I’m writing this in August 2024). I can’t believe the other reviews had such a bad product revise my experience has been amazing.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Questions

1 - 10 of 11 Questions
Sort by: Newest Answers

can I use regular cat litter with this product?

  1. Not really. Besides the fact that the system is designed to replace the tray and litter altogether (and that's how the trays come - with litter), this litter is designed to work with this system by drying out waste so it can be held in the reservoir without getting too stinky.

I just bought the scoop free litter box at Walmart, I didn't know that you could buy them with a cover. I would greatly appreciate it if you would let me know where I could buy one.

My 2 senior cats are filling up the tray in less than a week. That's really pricey considering it's supposed to last 10-15 days ideally with 2 cats. Is anyone else having this issue? Curious if there are any workarounds. Thanks

    1. I have 2 prolific pee-ers... and the tray only lasted about a week for me too. I invested further in this system by purchasing the plastic tray, but I found that I was tending the litterbox nearly as frequently as a standard type. Sadly, I really don't think this works for more than one cat. I've disassembled and cleaned it up, in hopes of selling it.

I bought this as my second one and the first one connected to the wifi and let me keep track on my phone in the app. Does this just not have that functionality?

I see on the reviews and q&a that the tray should be changed every 30-30 days, 1 person said they change after 40 uses. We are at 23 uses with 1 cat & my hubby says he is starting to smell urine. What is the best way to fix this w/out changing the tray

      1. uh change the tray or get fragrance stuff.

The covered part that the poop get scooped into is nowhere near big enough for a 2 cat household. Am I missing something?

      1. No, it just means you have to change it more often. The single and multi cat one are the same size. Difference between the two is the dimensions the multi is longer than the single. I have a single cat and had to get the multi use so he had more space to move around. Container gets full very quickly so I change it every other day. Hope this helps.

How often do you change out the little tray itself? How long do they last ? Do I ever have to add crystals to it or just use the tray till it’s “done” or just replace each time?

      1. I have 2 cats and only wish I had bought this item sooner- what a time saver! I change the tray every 2 weeks (about 40 uses), if you have only one cat you can obviously go longer. I did end up buying a spare bag of crystals and add in between tray changes as needed.

Can you use any cat litter?

      1. i have used other litters with mine before. but you have to be really careful. it needs to be a crystal type and around same sizes as theirs. (also its rare but make sure its not some of those crystal kinds that do the pee clumps)

Please tell us the dimensions of this litter box. We need to know as we have a large cat.

      1. L x W x H in inches 27.6 x 19.1 x 16

What’s the difference in this one and the purple or the brown one are the different sizes is that it? The opening looks bigger on this one.

      1. This one is the new verson (update) it also has a counter to keep track of how many times your cats go. but have learned this one doesn't help much when the other pets make the thing go off and scoop for no reason as well lol.
