Highly effective
The ScatMat saved our bedroom door!! My cat would meow and scratch at the door in the early morning hours. I would yell at him, squirt him with water and/or shake a can of coins at him. Nothing worked. I was just reinforcing the behavior I wanted to extinguish. Only one time on the ScatMat was all it took! I couldn't be more satisfied with it and would highly recommend it.

works,be aware of battery pack position
Scat mat is great tool for keeping our dog out of the kitchen. Be aware that the battery pack is big and cannot be moved. This makes some placements of the mat unsafe in our walking path. Would be better if there were two options for where the battery pack connects.

Pretty good.
To use the mat i had to cut it for 2 litterboxes. The kitten got a nail stuck in it once but I need to have her nails trimmmed.it pretty much works as promised.

Worked to keep the pup out of trouble.
We have a pup that got into the habit of counter surfing in out kitchen. We were continually telling him "off". Our floor plan made gating off the kitchen area inconvenient. A couple of these scat mats has kept him out of the kitchen. He stepped on them once and learned that going into see what he could steal off the countes was not a goid udea anymore. So, the scat mats have worked perfectly fir what we wanted to achieve, i.e. a dog free zone in our kitchen.

Works great but you must train
The product works great but if you buy one you need to do some training with it. Some reviews that say it didn’t work sounded like they expected magic. Nothing works like that. I have 4 dogs I wanted to keep out of my foyer. When they first touched the matt they just jumped straight across into the Foyer. But with about five minutes of training they quickly learned not to cross the threshold. I simply stood on the foyer side and as they touched the matt I gave a strong “no” and blocked their path. They quickly jumped back into the main room, where they are supposed to be. Now they approach the foyer on their own, sniff the matt and walk away. Like Magic :)

Second purchase (ScatMat), all still working well
This purchase was the second time I purchased these mats. I'm still using the first set (over 1 year old) and now using the new set. They work well, as advertised. My pet has responded as expected without injury.

Worst purchase I’ve made in years
Bought this in an emergency on Christmas Eve only to find that the geniuses that built this $90 thing didn’t think it should come with a charger, not a battery but a charger. Dig through my house and finally found a couple 9v chargers and neither of them fit in the hole. I am LIVID because as I’m writing this my cat is probably destroying my door frame while I’m away for 2 days because someone didn’t think to include a $1 piece of equipment that is required in an overpriced $90 junk. To make matters worse there’s lose pieces of plastic just floating around in the electronic box so doubt this junk will work even once I find that unicorn 9v charger that will fit in the hole.
No, I do not recommend this product.

- I think it would. There are different settings to increase the voltage so it would let your doggo know that's not OK to do.

my yorkie figured out how to push scatmat fwd w/ her nose (without shocking herself), & out of way just enough 2 get thru doorway. Mat functions normally. I know i can't sit anything on it to keep it from moving. how can i keep the mat in place?
- I used command strips on the underside of some of mine to hold them in place. They stay in place and the strips pull off cleanly.

- Thank you for your question! You can certainly put the mats on your car to deter animals from getting on top of it. However, the mats cannot be directly in contact with metal, so you'd need to place something underneath them like a towel or something similar.
