Sometimes chewing shoelaces and sneaking food from the trash can is just too tempting for your best friend to resist! PetSafe Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier is here to help you teach your pet which spots in your home are off-limits. This training tool is easy to use, simply place the pet barrier in the spot you'd like your best friend to avoid and place the adjustable receiver collar around your pet's neck. When your pet enters the pet-free zone, they will first hear a series of beeps from the receiver collar. If they do not leave the area, they will then feel a safe yet startling static correction. With a little time and practice, your pet will soon learn the areas of the home they need to avoid. The barrier transmitter covers up to 12 feet across or 6 feet radius. Your pet deserves the best. Trust PetSafe to help keep your pet healthy, safe and happy.

  • - Set Indoor Boundaries - Keep your cat off the kitchen counter and your dog away from the shoe rack by setting off-limits areas with the wireless, Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier transmitter
  • - What's Included - You'll receive 1 Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier and a receiver collar for your cat or dog to wear
  • - Safely Corrects Your Pet - When your pet enters the boundary area wearing the receiver collar, they will hear a series of beeps and then will receive a safe yet startling static correction
  • - Adjustable Barrier Range - Protect specific areas throughout your home by adjusting the boundary up to a 6 feet radius or 12 feet in diameter
  • - Protect Multiple Areas of Your Home - If you want to keep your pet away from more than 1 area of your home, simply purchase additional Pawz Away barriers and place them where needed
  • - Fits Most Size Pets - Receiver collar fits cats and dogs weighing at least 5 pounds with neck sizes between 6-28 inches
  • - Battery Operated - Pawz Away pet barrier requires 3 AA batteries (not included); receiver collar requires 2 3-Volt lithium batteries (included)

Works great!

I love this product. I use it to keep my doodle out of the kitchen and my cockapoo away from the Christmas tree. I just wish I could find a product like this that has the capabilities to set different channels. I would love to put one near the doodles kennel and set the cockapoos collar to a separate channel from the doodles collar to keep her out of it because she likes to pee occasionally in the doodles kennel.

indoor Pet barrier

This is my second indoor pet barrier. The first one lasted a couple of years and for no reason stopped working now. This one has stopped working and it’s under two years. It’s a great product when it works, but the lifespan is very short and at this price, you might wanna look elsewhere if you want something to last a lot longer. Very sad because there’s no reason why it should’ve stopped working.

System works, Durability is the biggest problem

DanJW

After reading other reviews it seems they need to revisit the durability of this product. When I bought the system the battery tabs had to be rebent inwards to hold the batteries in the proper position to keep them connected. Within a week of purchasing the product My dog snagged the webbing on a scratchy surface outside and unraveled the ENTIRE LENGTH OF WEBBING. I am currently trying to get ahold of support to see if I can get a new collar strap or something. We will see what is said.

This is a nice product but it would be better if it recharged via cord/ outlet. Changing batteries all the time is no fun!

I was really excited about this product, unfortunately the collar stopped working. It only beeps now, doesn’t shock. Didn’t even last a month

Great when it works, collar is junk

I have gone through 2 collars with this set as it seems they are poorly made. Appear to have issues with battery contacts within the collar, as it will intermittently work/not work. The functionality of this product is good when the collar works though.

Questions

1 - 10 of 21 Questions

What type of battery does the collar use

  1. It uses a 2025 battery round silver

Which system would you get for a garage? Would you have to get two devices for a single stall garage?

  1. Thank you for your question! The Pawz Away Indoor Pet Barrier is intended for indoor use only as it is not designed to withstand outdoor factors or extreme temperatures. We offer a variety of avoidance options and would be happy to work with you to determine the best fit for your situation. Please reach out to our Customer Care Team at 1-800-732-2677 for assistance.

I am trying to find something that would keep my cat from running out the door every time I come & go. I am wondering if I put the receiver next to the door, would it vibrate/shock when he got near the door (which would hopefully keep him from escaping)?

  1. Great question! Yes, you can absolutely use our Pawz Away Pet Barrier to help train your kitty not to charge the door. It will provide a tone upon approaching the barrier followed by the static stimulation should your kitty progress closer to the door.

Is this compatible with your collars for the outside invisible barrier? We live the outdoor system but these pups just won’t stay off the counters in the kitchen. Two of those collars on at once seems too much.

  1. Unfortunately, they are different systems. I combined both onto one collar for a 9 pound cat and that solved the counter surfing while still keeping her in the yard.

My dog gets in the kitty litter boxes, I would need two additional devices (for 3 litter boxes), is it possible to purchased additional ones? He’s a border collie and very sensitive to sound.

  1. Absolutely! The additional barriers are listed as SKU# ZND-1000.

I have two cats that I am trying to keep of myself kitchen counters. If I buy two collars and two barriers, will each collar sync with both barriers?

  1. Yes. You can set the boundary frequencies to match for the collars (not complicated and easy after first time) . Make sure to test the distancing between the barriers - it's a radius perimeter

I have a covered porch but sometimes rain blows under it. Can I place this device in a plastic box and it still work? Is it heat/cold sensitive?

  1. I tried putting it in a plastic bag and it work okay. I'd just get the outdoor one that's shaped as a rock instead.

My cat is only 6 months and 5 1/2 lbs. I was considering buying this to keep her from using our dog door. I’m concerned it won’t fit her. How small does this collar get?

  1. Thank you for your great question, Sierra! This collar is designed to fit pets 5 pounds and up with neck sizes of at least 6 inches around.

Will this keep my cat from going through doggie door?

  1. Thank you for your great question, Joe. With some training, the Pawz Away Barrier can absolutely be a good solution to teach your cat to keep away from the pet door.

Will this work for my 8 lb cat? She keeps pooping on our leather sofa.

  1. It may work. It depends on the length of the sofa, and where you put the disc. It works to keep our 9 pound cat from scratching a new chair, but that is smaller than a couch. If you have to, you could use two of the discs, one under each of the end cushions.
