Are underground fences a good affordable option for 2 pitbulls? How safe are the shock collars longer-term?
So we are going to use a remote collar to train the puppy to never chew the chainlink fence she doesn’t do it often . A trainer on YouTube Solidk9 training recommended. I think it’s better to have a mild stem correction than broken teeth one day. Also going to use to work on her recall she is 80% reliable everywhere but backyard that’s 10% she comes back. What brands on amazon are good? And how do I condition her to the collar?
My dog is petrified to go outside after shock from invisible fence
I have two neutered cats who love being outside. We live in a mountainous area with wildlife, so we are trying to keep them inside but they learned how to open doors. We are trying to decide b/w a wireless pet fence in our yard where they wear large-ish shock collars (even though they are smaller for cats) all the time as the company says not to wear for more than 12 hours or to just put cat trackers on them and find them every night. Which is safer?
We are getting a new electric fence box set for 60 mi. We have a miniature pinscher and I'm wondering if it would seriously injure him if he got into it, he got into the first fence that was set on 5 mi and he yelped but seemed fine. He is 10 and has a metal rod in his arm from when he broke it
I have a lab mix (about 2 years old) and I live on a dead-end street on 4 acres. I want her to stay in the yard, but sometimes she visits neighbors for hours at a time and there are a couple of dogs that come through and she will roam with them. I want her to have freedom to be on our four acres, & I was considering a training collar with remote to use when she takes off & won't turn around. Is this a good solution or will it scare her further away? She was a stray when she came here. Thanks
So my puppy chews her fencing of her dog run. A high respected trainer recommended a remote stem collar, as it isn’t SA as she doesn’t care about me when she comes out just wants to sniff and play outside, so what I’m going to do is have someone leave in a car and stay and if she chews the run she gets a stem, the trainer said she trained a few dogs with same issue and fixed within a week -2. I got Esky Dog Shock collar a good brand? Is this mean? I think it’s crueler to let her break her teeth
i have a 6 year old English StratfordShire mix. Kali is originally a outside dog but then become and inside dog for a couple of years but due to problems she is now a outside dog again. She is constantly jumping the fence no matter what i do. i have tried putting her on a tether hooked up to a harness but she still manages to get out. She will run around the neighborhood or come straight to the front door. im really scared thats shes going to get hit by a car. I can't afford a electric fence.
After speaking with our veterinarian I was able to train my dog not to run up to people or other dogs while off leash by using premium treats outside and less premium treats while indoors. My current issue is shes running into our neighbours backyard (new subdivision, no yard/fences etc.) because they throw food back there. I don’t drive and there’s no dog park nearby. I want her to run and play ball. Do you think it would be a bad idea to get a remote shock collar?
After exhaustive cleaning, our cat continues to mark indoors. Have you found indoor electric fences helpful?
We have a huge fenced in dog kennel about 30 feet from our house and our dogs go in it to use the bathroom. But when we take them out without leashes they run away. We already tried electric collers. Building a fence to the kennel is not an option. How do we do this???
Doberman or Rhodesian ridgeback for gaurding 6 acres I plan to have it trained by a certified trainer in attack protection and obedience, I want a dog who will learn the boundaries of the land and will not stray I also have 3 small dogs 2 shitzu’s and 1 chihuahua so it would have to be able to get along with them
