Questions
Does the reservoir snap unto or twist unto the base?
- Great question, Cathy! The reservoir has a slight twist to lock into the base.

Won't keep bowl full. When water is empty in bowl water will not flow unless you take the jug off and then put it back on. Fills bowl then after water is consumed have to repeat above. Why? Is it designed this way or a defect?
- Possibly a defect. The lid has a spring-loaded plug (looks like a plus symbol on the outside end) next to the other manual plug. When you put the jug into the dish, it should push on the spring-loaded plug and open it for water flow. We have two and never had a problem (we don’t use a filter).

Do you have to get the filter for it or can you use it without a filter?
- There is no filter on this, just a reservoir you fill with water and its screw on lid, and the drinking saucer and base. It's great for when we go on weekend trips, but you do want to wash the drinking saucer every few days as it gets dirty like any other drinking bowl.

How deep is the dish part on the medium and large bowls? I have a small one that I used to use for my cat and I am trying to re-purpose it for my new puppy, but the dish is too shallow - she makes a huge mess when she drinks.
- About 2 1/2 inches deep on the 3-gallon one.

is the opening where the water goes in large enough for a normal size hand to get in to water insides?
- Yes it is! The hole it pretty wide.

How much water does the LARGE hold?
- I was excited about the fact that you could fill it from the top instead of having to turn it upside down and get water everywhere but I am not figuring out a way to properly clean it and it’s also leaking so I would not recommend it

How much water does the small and medium size hold ?
- click on the size of the container and you will get your answer :)

Does the top come off for quick filling?
- Thank you for your question! Due to the fact that the Waterer uses gravity and the water/air pressure inside of the reservoir to regulate the amount of water it dispenses into the bowl below, it cannot be filled from the top as all the water would flow out of it and overflow the bowl. The reservoir can be filled by removing it from the bowl, unscrewing the reservoir cap from the bottom of it, and filling it up from there.
