Cute but too small
I love that the bowl is metal and not plastic, and that it's removable, but the smaller size is almost too small for an adult cat. I wish I had gotten the larger size.

Food doesnt refil when cats eat all the food
Pain to fill. Food doesnt come down on its own when the dish is empty even though the containeris full. You gotta shake it for the food to refill the dish. Kinda sucks.

Perfect for smaller pets
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a cat and he absolutely loves this feeding station and so do I. I love how I don't have to fill it often and I don't have to worry about my cat not having food for several days. The flow of the food is nice and I don't have to shake it to get it to disperse.

Petsafe medium gravity feeder
Nice quality but way to small for my needs. Would love to have one in a large size similar to the large gravity feeder.

Just ok
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality is not great, feels kind of cheap. I also wish there was a way to fill the top part, but then limit the amount of food that goes into the bowl.

Does it work outside? Do insect (ants) get in food?
- I have mine outside on the patio. No bugs no insects. If you have a insect problems obviously insects might get in it.

does anyone notice their cat/dogs getting fatter with the constant availability of food ?
- Depends on the cat. We have four. When we transitioned from scheduled feedings to this feeder...one went hog wild and gained weight. We are hoping once he realizes it is always available that he will slow down. Another skinny cat gained a little and looks better. Our thinnest cat is still thin.

Is the container ant-proof? We're constantly battling ants getting into the cat food so need something that will keep them out.
- Thank you for your question. The Healthy Pet Gravity Feeder is not insect-proof. Please keep in mind this container is meant for indoor use only and if you have a pre-existing ant problem, it would be best to treat your home for ants prior to using a feeder station like this.

I was wondering if the Medium size feed opening is large enough for a border collie to eat out of?
- I bought this for two cats and they are all I would recommend this for. So, no, not for a 20lb+ dog. The container assembly has to be shaken daily to continue to get food into the bowl and it’s very easy to inadvertently twist off the tower and end up spilling all of its contents out. Cats don’t shake the assembly so they don’t accidentally disassemble it but I could easily see a larger animal causing it to fall apart as they just want to shake more kibble down into the bowl.

I have never tried something like this so wondering how the cat gets the dry food to come out? Yes I know it is a gravity feeder but curious how it actually works? Also do they make this same product for water as in the photos I see one shown?
- The cats do fine getting the food out. I’ve only ever had it not flow easily when the food gets low and there isn’t enough weight to push the food out. I used it to feed my cats while gone for a long weekend without issues. They make water dispensers too and I’ve purchased two different types. Both work well.

- I have never had this happened to me. Also the kibble my animals eat are relatively small. But I can’t see where larger kibbles could get stuck - the opening that releases them are really wide.

How many days would this feeder feed three cats? I am looking for a solution when going out of town.
- Maybe 3 days. I have 2 cats and they can eat it up in about 6 days
