Could you please recommend an activity tracker for my puppy (one that does not require a monthly subscription)?
I have two neutered cats who love being outside. We live in a mountainous area with wildlife, so we are trying to keep them inside but they learned how to open doors. We are trying to decide b/w a wireless pet fence in our yard where they wear large-ish shock collars (even though they are smaller for cats) all the time as the company says not to wear for more than 12 hours or to just put cat trackers on them and find them every night. Which is safer?
So we are going to use a remote collar to train the puppy to never chew the chainlink fence she doesn’t do it often . A trainer on YouTube Solidk9 training recommended. I think it’s better to have a mild stem correction than broken teeth one day. Also going to use to work on her recall she is 80% reliable everywhere but backyard that’s 10% she comes back. What brands on amazon are good? And how do I condition her to the collar?
I have a lab mix (about 2 years old) and I live on a dead-end street on 4 acres. I want her to stay in the yard, but sometimes she visits neighbors for hours at a time and there are a couple of dogs that come through and she will roam with them. I want her to have freedom to be on our four acres, & I was considering a training collar with remote to use when she takes off & won't turn around. Is this a good solution or will it scare her further away? She was a stray when she came here. Thanks
Are underground fences a good affordable option for 2 pitbulls? How safe are the shock collars longer-term?
We are getting a new electric fence box set for 60 mi. We have a miniature pinscher and I'm wondering if it would seriously injure him if he got into it, he got into the first fence that was set on 5 mi and he yelped but seemed fine. He is 10 and has a metal rod in his arm from when he broke it
Is there a device to stop my dog's barking when she sees passersby with dogs? (she does it constantly) but I would still like for her to bark as a guardian dog, especially at night
Hi, my name is Julia and I am a college student working on a device that will function as a smart collar for dogs. I know the market already has some of these but I was wondering what features do you think are the vital ones that need to be included in this device. We have a GPS tracker, hope to have a heartbeat sensor, and outside temperature thermometer. But what else do you think would be vital to have measured to have a comprehensive image of a dog's health? We would really appreciate it!
My dog is petrified to go outside after shock from invisible fence
So my puppy chews her fencing of her dog run. A high respected trainer recommended a remote stem collar, as it isn’t SA as she doesn’t care about me when she comes out just wants to sniff and play outside, so what I’m going to do is have someone leave in a car and stay and if she chews the run she gets a stem, the trainer said she trained a few dogs with same issue and fixed within a week -2. I got Esky Dog Shock collar a good brand? Is this mean? I think it’s crueler to let her break her teeth
What are some brands of shock collars for dogs that don't shock but, just vibrate? I was looking for one with a remote.
After speaking with our veterinarian I was able to train my dog not to run up to people or other dogs while off leash by using premium treats outside and less premium treats while indoors. My current issue is shes running into our neighbours backyard (new subdivision, no yard/fences etc.) because they throw food back there. I don’t drive and there’s no dog park nearby. I want her to run and play ball. Do you think it would be a bad idea to get a remote shock collar?
