Dogs are good at pulling, and if you're training a sled dog team, then you're grateful for that natural ability. With this harness, the leash attaches at the front of your dog's chest, unlike standard collars or back-attachment harnesses which compel the pet parent to pull from behind. Gentle leader a winner!
My dog was challenging to handle until trying the gentle leader. This has been a major game changer! She does not pull now and it has greatly improved the quality of our walks. Additionally, this has made the visits to the vet easier to manage. The only challenge is that she frequently gets the leash between her front feet because she steps over the leash. Regardless, this is a small challenge to handle when compared to her previous pulling! I’m so glad I gave this a try

Game changer for enjoyable walks
It took a couple of walks for my dog to get used to the Gentle Leader but once he did our walks are so much more enjoyable. I don’t even have to lead him anymore, he just walks right next me and seems to be enjoying our walks more now too!

The Gentle Leader solves tugging
The Gentle leader is excellent at solving problems with forging , pulling, and lunging. This is the fourth dog I have used the Gentle Leader on and each time results are wonderful( solves forging} and dogs actually enjoy walking more after a short and mild break in period. 2 of my dogs would briefly try to rub nose piece off in grass for less than a minute on the first 2-3 walks and this behavior disappeared. Later after a week or two one can use a regular harness and the does still remember and follow good walking habits. Occasionally I will reuse the gentle leader for a few days as a refresher course if needed, On one dog it works fine to also to just use it long term. It is nice to know the can open their mouths just fine while using it to take treats or to bark or to drink. It works on small( 8 lbs) dogs as well large dogs. Of course you need to get the right size to match the size of the dog.

Gentle Leader is the best thing ever to keep a dog from pulling and lunging.
I've tried a number of other options which did not solve the issue.
Do give Gentle Leader a try if you'd like to have your dog walk calmly.

Clip is too easy for my dog to open
Bought this and returned it minutes later because that little clip on there just opens right up for my dog. Took him seconds to figure it out.

how big is the small one?will it fit a boarder collie?

We would recommend measuring your border collie around their neck at the highest point, directly behind the ears, then matching this measurement to the size where that measurement falls. Can it be used for bulldogs
- This is a great question, Misti! Though some customers have successfully used this head collar with bulldogs, individuals with very short muzzles typically do best with our Easy Walk® harness.

Will it work for my Beauceron? He's very powerful and strong, so I don't know if it'll rip if he tries to open his mouth.
- It doesn't hold the mouth closed. Dog is still able to eat, drink, and bark whilst wearing it. I have an 80ish lb chow mix and I've used it on him since he was almost 2yrs old and he'll be 10yrs this year. He's always been headstrong and it's the only way i walk him. It just puts gentle pressure the top of his nose and he corrects himself. I pretty much have walked with a very loose leash

Will the small gentle leader head collar fit a small 7 lb. Chihuahua mix? He has a long snout like a min pin not your regular Chih. Thanks

Have herd that the plastic clip under the chin breaks easily. And that it does not hold up. up. I have a 30 lb Border collie Pit bull cross. He pull very hard all the time. .Is this true.?

I have a 130lb German shepherd, 2 years old & VERY difficult to control on walks. I'm trying & he's getting better together with my 50lb rescue, but still pulls HARD towards dogs & people. Will this stop him from pulling & trying to control ME on walks?
- I have a 90lb pitbull that also pulls hard towards others. I feel like the gentle leader helps me control him better because it controls the head, instead of the full weight of the dog if you use a regular collar leash or harness. I grab the leash closer to the leader and pull down when someone is coming close and it helps keep him from lunging. I hope this helps.

Would this fit a 7 -10lb dog?
- I think the size small would work because the head strap is adjustable. My 2 guys are 15-17 lbs. and I believe I bought smalls for them.

Would this type of muzzle help with a dog/puppy that wants to eat every rock on our walks?
- I believe it would because the pet parent has control of the lead, hence control of the dog. It fits over the nose and snaps in place at the back of the neck. With very little tugging or effort, you literally guide the dog’s head by its nose.

At what age of the dog/puppy is it recommended?
- I started this with puppies as young as 4 months....and older dogs (age 9). It works really well, even if they don’t like it!
