Sizing
Unfortunately, sizing is off. Although the lg door says it accommodates Setters Poodles and Greyhounds

complete garbage
Did not fit properly inside the door jam as instructed, the caster track was in the way. The door does not fit flush against the insert, due to bolt heads for the door casters, had to buy weather stripping, still does not fit flush with out pressure on the door. The flap sits wonky and does not seal properly, I tried to adjust it at the screws, didn't fix the issue, flap may be warped. The lock cannot be installed, option at floor is out of the question due to the glass, and the top option cannot be installed due to what looks like plastic plugs that are glued into the door, gonna have to resort to the old sawed off broom stick in the door jam.
No, I do not recommend this product.

We're sorry to hear this panel was not the best fit for your particular sliding glass door! This is certainly unusual, as these panels typically can be installed as intended within most sliding glass door tracks. With a depth of 3/4", for most doors they can fit on the interior side of the track. Though there may be a very slight gap between the sliding door and the panel, if present this can typically be resolved with weatherstripping. <br /><br />As there would need to be a frame around your sliding glass door for it to be able to slide, this would mean there would be space to install the lock as intended. Great product
Our Westie loves to go in and out at will! This was easy to install. We added some extra weather stripping just as a bonus. Really a great solution!

My dogs love the freedom of going outside whenever they want. The door fits perfectly in the slider and seems to keep the cold air outside.

Is this door good for cold states? Or is it basically like keeping a window open and letting a bunch of cold air in?
- Thank you for your question! While the Freedom Aluminum Patio Panel is good for preventing some of the cold from transferring into your home, it is not ideal for very cold areas. In this type of situation, we would recommend our Extreme Weather Sliding Glass Pet Door™ instead.

Is it removable? i live in an apartment and want to take it off when I move.

With that being said, some customers do choose not to permanently install the panel, and to remove it and place it back in the track as they wish.

Love this door, it has been such a relief to know I can go to work or run errands knowing my dog has access to the fenced in backyard. The latch to lock the slider to the panel broke. Can I purchase the replacement for that part?

Is it still possible to lock the sliding glass door with this insert?
- Thank you for your question! You can absolutely lock your door when using the Freedom Aluminum Patio Panel. A locking kit is provided with the patio panel to take the place of the lock in your sliding glass door if you intend to install the panel permanently in the sliding glass door.

What is the distance from the bottom of the door to the bottom of the flap. Also, what size do you recommend for a 15 lb dog. Thanks Bob
- Thank you for your great question. In the Small and Medium sizes, there is a 4-inch rise from the bottom of the door frame to the flap opening. In the Large size, this is an 8-inch rise.

Can you use the aluminum patio panel on a vinyl sliding glass door?

They are intended to be screwed into the frame of the sliding glass door.
