All parts, excluding vinyl flaps, are covered under warranty, and labor is covered for the first year of ownership. Thereafter, there is a minimum service charge for the repair or replacement of the product. Vinyl flaps are warranted for one (1) year. Misuse, loss, improper handling, commercial use, and dirty or worn parts are not covered. Radio Systems will not pay for loss of time, inconvenience, loss of use of your product, or any incidental or consequential damages.

Great, until it got cold. The screws pulled through on the inside. The flap holder on the outside broke clean off a few hrs later. They really arent built for a home that has 3 dogs, who are worse than our kids, running in and out all day and night long. Only had for a year.

Frame broke at -45 windchill
Extreme weather door good for up to -100.....today in Wisconsin it's about -20 and -45 windchill....we have a non aggressive 60 lbs. Dog ....she walked through door gently for morning potty ...and the flap came with her ..the frame of door cracked off ...work good for 2 years....but it's not good for -100 ......just so u know...... thanks

This door is great for keeping Ohio winter weather outside but the cats can use it with ease. Yes, I have fairly large cats that need a dog-size door.

Just installed the aluminium extreme weather dog door. An exact replacement for my previous aluminium single flap door. I’ve used the single flap door for 10 years and only had to replace flaps due to puppy love for the flap! The new door flaps are working so well, I had to write this review. My dogs transitioned easily to the new flaps and my dog room is much warmer. I recommend the aluminium doors over the plastic ones for Canadian climate.

May be good at insulating, but that's it.
Bought this because I was told to prioritize insulation since this is an outside door going to the garage. But this has been terrible to install. They give you plastic/nylon bolts that bend easy. Unless you have a perfect cut the bolt holes will not line up and fishing for the hole will bend the bolts. I had to get metal 8-32 bolts and a 4" drill bit. Made a few extra holes in the pet door to line it up. To add insult to a frustrating install it has a door cover with plastic tabs that a manbearpig would have trouble taking off. Leaving the house for 6 months? Okay install it. Goes on easy enough. Pulling it back off? Nope. I am actually still trying to get it off now with a pry too and not damage the cover in the process.
Unless it is a true exterior door. Do not get this. If it is a garage and you want to isolate pets in the garage from time to time because they try to steal your food or beg like fiends get anything else but this.

do you have a pet door with an opening of 10" by 18"?

- Thank you for this question! The flap opening of the medium PetSafe Extreme Weather Door measures 5 1/8” x 8 ¼”, and the flap opening of the large size measures 8 1/8” x 12 ¼”.

I have installed a PetSafe patio panel door. Will the extreme weather flaps fit this door?
- Thank you for your question, Glenn! The Extreme Weather flaps will not work in any of our doors that use our standard vinyl flaps. You would specifically need one of our Extreme Weather Pet Doors in order to use the Extreme Weather flap.

Would it be easy for an 8 lb. Chihuahua to push through both ways?
- Well the panels are very secure it doesn’t take much effort to open them and they closeEasily. You probably would have to put it lower in the door or wall for your puppies height. I have four dogs and they go through it like it’s not even there and love it to get outside. Would definitely recommend this. I live in Alaska and the room does not get cold from it.

I already have a petsafe single-flap door (medium) in my door- does this door match the same dimensions? It can be very windy where I live and during the summer the single flap door just flaps in the wind. I want to replace it with this one.
- hard to say; you'd have to measure. The dimensions are here: https://store.petsafe.net/extreme-weather-aluminum-pet-door I bought mine several years ago; it came with completely useless flimsy plastic screws and nuts. Replaced them with metal.

what size hole would I need for the large dog door?
- Thank you for your great question. In the large size, the cutout is approximately 11¼" x 19". Please note that we advise not making any cuts until you have the cutting template in hand so you can make the most accurate cuts possible.

- Yes, I put mine in the door, however there are directions to put it between two studs in the wall.
