Should I purchase a water fountain for my dog? She does drink on her own several times a day. But that sounds like a good idea. Does it really encourage them to drink more water? Is it easy to clean? I currently like to wash my dogs water bowl daily with warm water and soap. Would this be doable with a water fountain? thanks!
I bought a water fountain for my dog but she doesn’t seem to realize it’s ok to drink from it. She seems to me slight afraid of it. What can I do?
My dog drinks from her water bowl several times per day. (Usually after her meals and her walk.) is she getting enough water do you think? I don't know how to measure how much she's drinking because my family has three dogs at home. Would a pet water fountain help her drink more? Should I add 1/2 cup of water to her dry food at each meal, or is this overkill? Thanks!
Hi! I bought my cats a drinking fountain. It’s only been a few hours but they seem afraid of it. Any advice or do they just need to decide to give it a try? I left their old water bowl out and they’re still choosing it over the fountain. Thx!
Thank you destini for all your helpful answers! This is so informative! Do dogs have a preference of still water or a water fountain? Just curious, Thanks!
My twenty-six pound mixed terrier doesn't drink much water. Is there anyway to encourage drinking besides treats? I sometimes add water to chicken broth to get her to drink fluids with a few pieces of chicken at the bottom. She prefers the water bowl in our three season enclosed porch better than the one under our kitchen table. But getting her to drink is difficult. I use her bottle when she hasn't drank anything else during the day. How much water does she need?
Hello I sought your advice recently about introducing a drinking fountain to my 18 yr old and 10 year old cats. It’s been about 4 days and neither of them will go near it. I’ve even given them treats and a meal near it. Do you think I should give it more time or pack it away ?
My medium small pit mix inhales her food and water, we now use a slow feeder but she still gulps her water down. She also pees in the house, on my bed and seems to leak (urine I’m guessing) when laying down
my small dog Luca, did not drink much water yesterday and today he had one little sip outside, when should I consider going to the vet
Hello! Piper semi-frequently regurgitates her water and I'm unsure if it's just drinking too much too fast. She probably does it once/twice every couple of days. She has only regurgitated undigested food once, and since switching to an anti-gulp bowl she's been fine on that front. She does seem to drink rather a lot, but having not had her long I am also unsure if this is just the normal amount for her. One other thing is she has excessive flatulence, unsure if it's related.
Rosie is a 4 1/2 year old healthy cat who now won’t drink water. 3 weeks ago yearly vet visit she’s great! Now she’s lost ~ 1/2 pound. Acts fine, no evidence of disease or illness except minor dehydration. SubQ fluid, Covenia, DEXA given by vet yesterday as she’s had UTI in past. Have cat water fountain she loves - no interest now. Eats dry urinary + calm Royal Canin and 1 spoon pumpkin per day. Will not eat moist. Yesterday and today she licked liquid of small can of food. WORRIED!
Hello. Concerned for my puppy. Doesn’t seem to drink much water. He’s 17 weeks and has not been sick. Eats his dry food well and very playful and gets nice walks. Found him 10 days ago and had first round of shots last Wednesday. Today got warmed at petco. He’s terrier maybe beagle mix. Let’s just say it seems he drinks a cup or two a day. And that’s a maybe. Pulling up skin and definitely seems dehydrated. He will drink when I ask sometimes. How can I encourage him to drink more thank you
