We love our dog door. I always buy the Freedom Aluminum extra large size. I do not like the newer covers that seal the door off, I liked the white metal ones much better. I’d love to purchase the white one if anyone knows where to buy one at?

The door quality is good. The fasteners should not be plastic. They snap of quite easily and really should be aluminium.

Not a good place to shop online
Never waste your time ordering online with Petco! They don't have a clue how to operate via online sales. I waited over a week after getting a notice my item had shipped. Well, in fact it had never left their facility. Also, if you try to check the status of your delivery online, they require that you first enter your order number, which I was never given! So' I instead had to contact the customer dis-service department and was told the bad news that somehow the item has still not shipped. But the notice said it had shipped!!! They really need to learn the ropes of online sales, as nobody wants to have to spend wasted time tracking down an order, especially when the main reason to shop online is to save time!!!
No, I do not recommend this product.

Wonderful
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is so awesome, I put it in my back door and it worked perfect for my lab and a she fits right through it. She is very tall and wide and glides right through. So love not having to get up and down to let her out all the time.

Needs replacements for magnets attached to frame
We have 2 of these doors in our house. I can’t tell you how many times we have had to replace the flaps. Seriously TOO MANY TIMES. At least they are available to purchase. My problem now is the magnet that slides over the glides on the bottom has been ruined in all the going in and out and chewing from a puppy. I have looked everywhere for a replacement for it and can’t find one. I don’t know if they even make them. So I have had to just get a regular strip magnet and it doesn’t work well at all. If PetSafe reads this, will you please contact me? I would love a replacement part if it is available and I just can’t find it in my search.

Dimensions of small pet door?
- Thanks for your question. The frame dimensions for the Small Freedom® Aluminum Pet Door are approximately 7 3/4” x 11 5/8". Please note that these dimensions are not the cut out measurements. We always advise using the cut out template provided with the door to ensure proper installation!

The specs mention a height and an adjustable height but they are the same number. I'd like to know the range of adjustability for the large and extra large dog door,
- Mine was not adjustable. I just had to replace my old dog door - which was the same kind.

Does this Doogie door have to be installed on a door that is flat surface? I have a wooden door that isn't a flat surface.
- Thank you for this question! Though this door does not have to be installed on a flat surface, if you install it on a panel door you may choose to use items such as wood shims, caulking, or other filler material to cover the gaps that will e present between the frame and the door in places.

Will the XL be big enough for a Great Dane?

can this dog door be put in wall
- Thank you for your great question. On its own, this door is designed to fit through standard doors that are ⅜" to 2" (0.95 cm to 5.08 cm) deep. However, with additional materials and hardware, many people have successfully installed this door through a wall. You will want to gauge this on your own handy abilities and whether you feel confident enough to do it. In my lanai, I want to install a pet door in the aluminum knee wall to the back yard. Can this be done?

What sort of locking device does it have? My current door has the plastic cover and my cats pulled that off in minutes.
