It is cheap looking and air comes through around the sides

I have used these doggie doors for several years. The only reason I needed a new one is because we moved. Definitely recommend these products!

The door quality is good. The fasteners should not be plastic. They snap of quite easily and really should be aluminium.

Never waste your time ordering online with Petco! They don't have a clue how to operate via online sales. I waited over a week after getting a notice my item had shipped. Well, in fact it had never left their facility. Also, if you try to check the status of your delivery online, they require that you first enter your order number, which I was never given! So' I instead had to contact the customer dis-service department and was told the bad news that somehow the item has still not shipped. But the notice said it had shipped!!! They really need to learn the ropes of online sales, as nobody wants to have to spend wasted time tracking down an order, especially when the main reason to shop online is to save time!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is so awesome, I put it in my back door and it worked perfect for my lab and a she fits right through it. She is very tall and wide and glides right through. So love not having to get up and down to let her out all the time.

We have 2 of these doors in our house. I can’t tell you how many times we have had to replace the flaps. Seriously TOO MANY TIMES. At least they are available to purchase. My problem now is the magnet that slides over the glides on the bottom has been ruined in all the going in and out and chewing from a puppy. I have looked everywhere for a replacement for it and can’t find one. I don’t know if they even make them. So I have had to just get a regular strip magnet and it doesn’t work well at all. If PetSafe reads this, will you please contact me? I would love a replacement part if it is available and I just can’t find it in my search.

Now, it might just be my dog, who is smart in the stupidest of ways, but he figured out how to open the blocked doggy door FAST. He opened it within hours of us installing it, so we had to de-install it to then RE-install it from the outside so he couldn't escape. it also broke nearly immediately. We got one of these probably over 10 years ago and it lasted for a LONG time, up until a few months ago. The quality has gone way down and the new locking mechanisms suck. I'm sure it works great for people without freakazoid Houdini dogs, but I think we have to invest in another brand.

I was trying to replace an old aluminum PetSafe Large dog door with a newer aluminum Petsafe Large dog door. Replacement did not fit into old cutout and screw holes contrary to what was told me by Petsafe technician. After removing the old Aluminum dog door, the new Aluminum dog door did not fit the cutout of the old Aluminum dog door and neither did the screw holes align directly with the new Aluminum frame holes contrary to what was assured to me by the Petsafe Co technician. It's a great product , EXCEPT , for the non direct replacement feature. This was an installation into a steel cladded external door to the home. A replacement swinging flap is currently available until the no longer produced flap by Petsafe Co is depleted. However, the charge for a flap (item Large 4-0113-11 replacement flap) and the shipping and the tax would be over 50% of the cost to purchase a new Aluminum dog door from Petsafe. I suggest that Petco coordinate with Petsafe Co Freedom dog door to not tell Petco customers that it is a direct replacement for older Petsafe Freedom Dog Doors purchased from Petco. Enough said about my long installation and reinstallation into a steel door so I would not have a gaping hole in my steel cladded external residence door for thieves to enter my home.
