My miniature dachshund is almost 5 months old and we currently walk him with a collar and lead- which would be better - a collar or harness? I know this breed can have back problems so just wanted an experts opinion.

Collar training My 14 week papillon is tiny just over 2lbs. The smallest harness does not fit. I began collar and leash during potty pad time, then keeping on and off for periods yesterday. Of course she bites and plays with the leash, causing it to be more of a potty training distraction than tool. The collar, right sized no dangles made of nylon, seems to irritate her skin. She itches it constantly. Is this hurting her skin or part of getting used to the collar?

I have a 16 week old female boxer, we are trying to potty train her and have been since we got her. She won't walk on the leash. We tried a harness and a collar nothing works. She just stands there. We try without a leash and she runs off. We have tried taking the treats out with her and it doesn't work. Any tips on getting her potty trained or walking on the leash will greatly be appreciated. My cavapoo pulls on her lead when walking. It’s like the walk is a race to get through. As a puppy she practically took the entire walk on her hind legs like a performing bear. Having gone to behaviour classes with little change, I bought the halti collar which goes over her nose. Although it helps with the pulling, she hates it and spends the walk trying to get it off by either rubbing her face in the grass or jumping up and attacking it with her front paws.
Our puppy does not understand the leash and when we hook it to her collar she flips around and acts crazy. We want her to get used to it but she is going to hurt herself. We want to get her a harness but what is the best type of harness for a puppy? Some have soft material versus some made out of thinner collar materials. Which is better?

PULLING: Off-leash, she walks alongside me. Outside, she wears a comfortable harness(pictured). •I stop and use sit command. If I verbally praise her, she jumps right back up and back to pulling. She doesn’t do treats. If I don’t praise her, she’ll stay until I begin to walk again and she’s back to pulling (repeating steps during entire walk). •Gentle leader. She will not walk and acts too ashamed.
Is it better to buy a harness before getting the puppy or taking the puppy with you when you go buy the harness? The puppy is 8 weeks old.
