I hate to ruin the reviews of those that love this item, but I have to share that I was shipped a used (or returned) item. The bars were all saran-wrapped together, scuffed up, and on the bottom of the box, so all the wood was stacked on top of them. I can't imagine this is how a new item would be packed. There was no styrofoam in-between (the wood) pieces, the black bar-posts were not individually wrapped, and some of the numbers were missing from pieces, making it a bit tricky to figure out what goes where. Rather than try assembling it, I called customer support. They are working with me to replace the item, but one thing I've learned in my life is when something like this happens to someone, it's not the first time this has occurred, so how many others out there are getting used, or returned, or floor/show items sent to them? This is an expensive item by my standards. I was looking at 70-dollar condos that were bigger than this, but the reviews were great and it looks real nice, plus it was to go in a room of mine with new wood floors, so I was excited, but as I was unpacking the item, I got pretty frustrated. If they would have announced it was a return or used, then discounted it, I'd feel a lot better about the purchase (although I doubt I would have bought it).

It's about 30lbs, so it's got some weight to it but I can still move it around with no problem. That means you can give your cats a change of scenery but also not be concerned about it tipping over! It was also very easy to assemble, only taking me about 25 minutes by myself.

The top section is big enough for both of them to fit inside. There are two scratching pads on it which are both holding up quite well for the amount of damage our kittens have tried to do to them. The build quality is the biggest differentiator from other cat trees we've owned. This thing is incredibly sturdy. The instructions to build it were easy to follow along with too. I'm very pleased with our order. Can't recommend it enough!
