For a cat or light weight or small dog these would work. The zipper does make it flimsy like and I'd use it on rugs only.

I love these soft stairs and the stairs are not too high of a step up . Easy to install. Pieces zipper up with one another i- so you can adjust overall height. Not thrilled with gray only as a color option
