My pup was diagnosed with IVDD 2 days ago. 50% chance of walking again. She hasnt wanted to eat and shes taking meds. She was moving nonstop last night whcih led me to laying her down but she resisted. I dont want to hurt her. Wht poition should she be layed down in. She pulls back her neck as much as possible. Gave her melatonin as well. What to feed? Can i shower her? Should the surface in the crate be flat? Or have her bed? Lost feeling of bith hinde legs. Caprofen 25mg & neurontin 100mg meds
My Terrier has diarrhea and vomiting she destroyed her foam bed on Saturday
What pain medicine and/or supplements can Watson take given his low body weight of 3.3 pds at 7 months? He's been rather sick, and the doctor noted his back leg muscles had begun to atrophy. He's trying to move, but it's obvious he's in a lot of discomfort. Could an orthopedic bed help at all as well? I'm fighting alongside him in his recovery.
Hello, my dog won’t sit/lay down for longer than 2 minutes. Recently was diagnosed with Arthritis (2 months ago) but was told it wasn’t severe enough yet to require surgery/meds. He’s been acting weird the last couple of hours, its Easter Sunday so vets are closed so is there any medicine we can buy at the store to ease his pain so he can sleep until we can see our vet tomorrow. Thanks
I want to crate train my 1 year old dog. I bought a "medium" crate for her , shes 25 lbs - aussie/dashund mix so shes kind of long shaped. The measurments on the box are for a dog even taller/wider than mine... but the crate doesnt really seem big enough for her to turn around in (unless she kind of squirmed up into a circle). Do you think I need to buy a larger crate? Why does the size on the box say its good for the dog's size.. / ?
Took Max to emergency vet after my dog grab him by the neck tore him like a rag down back and forth. Vet didn't fine anything wrong besides max having arthritis on spinal and hip and his backed up with poop. Since his visit to vet he has not moved much from bed. He's also on pain meds. Vet also recommend Miralax. I've given Miralax mix with wet food. Hes pooped twice last 3 days. He can't jump on to bed by himself. Any advice? Hard on me affording veterinary. I'm unemployed at the moment.
What type of bed would you suggest for my miniature dachshund? She is 3 1/2 months old. She gets cold easily & sleeps w/ me in my bed. She always loves cuddling with me whever I am if on the couch resting, etc. I always have a small blanket & she loves for me to cover her up totally.. She crawls under it & goes to sleep!
I recently purchased a memory foam mattress topper that is CertiPUR-US certified. This means that it contains VOC’s that are less than 0.5 parts per million which is the safe range for humans. However, I am wondering if this is also a safe range for dogs as my dog sleeps on my bed each night. The company claims that they also do not use dangerous chemicals in their foam and I know that some dog beds are regulated by CertiPUR-US as well. I want to be sure that this memory foam will not harm Timo.
My dog has been having crying episodes as he runs in circles crying and took him to the vet and was told he had neck pain and gave him medication and asked for crate rest but he has too much energy although his medication has mild sedation. What can i do?
My dog a 7year old male dogue de bordeaux has been injured somehow on his front right leg which had left a hole in his leg and now the size has got much larger (swollen and infected) have used a bread poultis to remove the visible pus but he is limited in walking eating and drinking. He has been cleaned with Epsom salts diluted in water and bandaged every 4 hours with the poultis. This has not worked
My pup got spayed today and she’s not moving she won’t lay down or anything it’s been many hours she still seems medicated anything I can do to help her be comfortable and get some rest
My dog has a mast cell tumor on the back of his leg that is being treated (palliative care) with chemo therapy, prednisone and benadryl. However, after those medications, his leg is still so swollen and he seems like he is in pain/very lethargic. His groin is also quite bruised. Can I apply a cold or hot compress for the swelling? Is there anything else I can do?
