Princess has anxiety, she starts breathing hard, walking in circles and shakes when thunderstorms , fireworks or any booms happen. When she panics I try to keep her calm by petting her playing tv or music to distract her and walk to her it seems to help somewhat but I seen pills at petco/smart for calming will that actually work? What will the pills do? is the hugging shirt they sell a better option?

Back in january my neighbours had builders in for 3 weeks and the noise freaked out my 14 yearold Jack Russell causing her to pant and shake .Since then every time there is a loud hammering or drilling noise she freaks out.I did all I could to drown out the noise but there was still the vibration.If they had only warned me before a friend would have had her.I have bought an Adaptyl deffuser and some Higher Nature Pets CALM both of which calm her down.think prob here to stay.What else can I do

I moved over the summer and my dog has been in my new apartment since the middle of July. Now that the weather is cooler, our heat is on. We live in an older place with big radiators that sometimes make a clinking sound. It’s not very loud, but it makes Diesel freak out. He will be awake all night pacing and panting and crying and drooling. This past week he was so stressed and anxious he peed and pooped the floor. Bella is a new dog for us. She was being bred at a puppy mill and was rescued and put up for adoption. Unfortunately, she gets very anxious when she hears any kind of sound at all. Loud barking, crying, just generally going crazy. We have tried meds, Trazadone, Ativan, and a new generation antihistamine, Apoquel. That one is super expensive. None of this really seems to work. We also have a thunder shirt. Any thoughts about what you think we should do for her? Thanks.
Good Evening Doctor. I have a 14 yr old Chihuahua who has lost a majority of both his sight and hearing. He has always had issues with severe anxiety, which I have attempted to treat naturally over the years with everything from CBD, to treats tailored to help with anxiety, as well as an extensive list of different tinctures, and calming supplements. However, over the past 8 months, his anxiety has become impossible to manage, and emotionally unbearable for both my poor dog and myself....

what would you recommend to give to my 5 lb yorkie to allow her to rest/sleep while flying..I bought a medication from my vet & it made her too hyper..xanax I think..she squeeled/barked/& tried to dig out of her kennel the entire trip...omg horrifying
