Kennels that are about 2 1/2 feet long are good for small dogs, Dogs should be able to stand up with ease, fit through the door effortlessly and comfortably turn around .

It depends more on the height and length of your dog then the weight. Look at the IATA website for airline regulations. Most airlines refer you to their website.

I purchased the XL size for my 50lb dog and it’s perfect. I would not want her to be in a smaller size kennel.

I’m not sure if it would or not. I was using the top of the crate to store some papers, mail, etc. and the top started to bow in a little bit. There was a good amount of stuff on there but certainly not 60 pounds worth. Hope that helps.

The height of the kennel should be 3-4 inches taller and longer than your pet so there's ample space to fully stand up, easily turn around and comfortably lie all the way down.
