Benny is an 11 year old rescue Pug with arthritis. Once he got over the "funny smell" he liked the bed. It's firm but the egg crate foam helps to soften it a bit. The cover is loose to allow for moement of the foam as Benny moves around. Best of all, he seems more comfortable than he was on his other bed.

There is no egg crate foam although there ARE two layers of foam. I'm assuming one of them is the memory foam. I would have given it a higher rating if it actually had the egg crate foam. My elderly dog's old bed has egg crate foam and she seems to sleep more comfortably on that but it's getting worn down. She tosses and turns more on this one. It seems to be a good bed but I am a little disappointed.

It had a strong odor when it arrived but information shipped with the bed said to let it air out for a few days so I did. The odor faded and the dogs like it. It appears to be good quality and well made. It looks like it will last a long time. I like the fact that you can remove the cover to wash it.
