I've read that plastic bowls can cause cancer in dogs and cats. We recently had to put our cat to sleep due to lymph cancer. He was only 2 1/2 years old. My Vet said it was not the virus cancer. Now I feel responsible as I was feeding him out of plastic bowls.
What is the best dog bowl material that is non toxic, going to stay clean, not get a film at the bottom and not harbor bacteria?
I adopted 2 kittens at 3 months who are now 10 months old. Brother & sister. Their main area is a room with their beds, food, water, and 2 litter boxes--one is Scoopfree with automatic cleaning, and the other a regular litter box, from which I scoop feces every day. Someone has decided to take a piece or 2 of poo out and bat them around the room, when I'm not there. What can I do to prevent that?
My female cat tips over her food and water bowls. Or if I let her lick from a plate, she tries to tip that too. It’s like what she is doing in her litter box when she scraps her litter over her pee or poop. I don’t understand why she’s doing that to her food and water too. Hi, I have two young cats, both around 9 months old, when I first got them I never had a problem with them urinating outside of their litter box, but recently one or both of them (not sure which one) has started urinating all over their food mat and on their food bowls... I have tried thoroughly cleaning the mats every time with enzyme cleaner made for cat urine, cleaning out their litter box every time and tried feeding them separately and only leaving one bowl of dry food and one of water...
My dog does not want to eat from his metal bowl anymore, we bought him a plastic one and for a while he ate but now he stop again. We got him a porcelain and still not eating. And my husband has feed him his soft food with a fork but he would not eat his hard food.

I feed them in separate bowls on each side of the fireplace. They are grazers eat some leave etc. I put morning portion in their bowl and then later if empty evenings. I’d like to them to eat all their dry food in two meals and finish in a timely manner. How to train them to do this without making them get too skinny? And how many cups should I feed them? I have a 5 year old cat that has thrown up once a day since she was 1. I have tried fortiflora, grain free, sensitive stomach, brushing her hair often, the vet gave me a paste for hairball just in case it was that and finally my last attempt has been an l.i.d. diet. What she throws up in mostly just yellow liquids. The other day I read something about raising their bowls up. I thought that was working. Now that I have done that she is throwing up her food instead of just liquids.

My cat eats her food really fast and drinks water extremely fast then goes and throws up. If I give her a small treat she will scarf it down and then goes and throws up. Every time she does this it's the morning and she will throw up more than once. She purposely eats a lot and then drinks a lot. Would a slow feeding bowl work?
