My dog is about 16 years old now and he act's like he might be having some problems with his joints. Like getting on the couch or bed with me. Should I get him some bone and joint supplement I seen at Wal-Mart and what one is the best
We bought my dog a new dog bed that’s supposed to help with his anxiety. The first night he loved it - we couldn’t get him out of it! Since that first night, he doesn’t like to sit on it anymore. He just humps it and licks it. We can put him directly in it and force him to sit, but he won’t stay long and looks uncomfortable. Should I take the bed away? Why won’t he lag on it anymore?
My pet has torn all his beds and now sleeps on a blanket or a bedsheet. I hope that won't cause any joint problems in the long run? It seems that he is comfortable sleeping this way. Is it safe?
14.5 yr old lab healthy except for osteoarthritis. had erlychiosis 3X, 2X hospitalized, in 2015. pretty stiff walking,does not do stairs, have to lift her to car. on glucosamine/chroin for 5 years, rimadyl 100mg for 3. big problems laying down, circles several times, sometimes aborts her lay down and walks away, or gets halfway down and falls the rest. laying down harder than getting up. good appetite, bowel and kidneys fine. what to do? change NSAID? add tramadol? what is best supplement?
What type of bed would you suggest for my miniature dachshund? She is 3 1/2 months old. She gets cold easily & sleeps w/ me in my bed. Ellis is a black lab, bred for guide dog service, but didn’t graduate. He is now 14. He’s a happy pup, but has been in decline. Just this year he decided he no longer wants to go for walks. He’s pretty lumpy. We now live in a house with mostly hard floors, but we do have rugs in places. He has increasingly had a hard time getting up off the floor and his paws tend to splay out. Just today he would get up and his back legs would tremble and he would try to wander around but hesitate...
I have an 8 yr old obese lab that is having a bit of trouble getting up after lying down & is gimpy for a bit afterward. I know the stiffness has a bit to do w/ his weight (125 lbs). But he also has TERRIBLE skin allergies that make him itch HORRIBLY! I believe he also has food allergies too... What pain medicine and/or supplements can Watson take given his low body weight of 3.3 pds at 7 months? He's been rather sick, and the doctor noted his back leg muscles had begun to atrophy. He's trying to move, but it's obvious he's in a lot of discomfort. Could an orthopedic bed help at all as well? I'm fighting alongside him in his recovery.
