These gave me ongoing pantry moth infestation!

Jmo53214

I usually buy a half pound of these at atime for my four dogs. Last year around this time, I purchased a small quantity. As I always do I came home and emptied the plastic bag into my dog's empty treat jar. The next morning I was startled when a few moths flew out of the jar but because I was on my way to work I paid it little mind gave my dogs their treat and left. The next morning, same thing, only this time about a dozen moths flew out. It was like a weird Tim Burton wedding invitation or something. I poured the jars contents into a ziplock bag and immediately saw moths and various stages of development. Took them to my local Petco thinking I was alerting them to an issue, when I was told "oh we know! That's why we have had to put them under the bins inside the cabinet now... it's bad for business for people to see bugs flying around on the products!" I could not believe what I was hearing. I've always found the staff to be extremely helpful and considerate and kind... But here I am a year later still dealing with the fallout. These suckers infest any and everything that is made of seeds or grain and lay eggs in the corners of walls, on stuffed animals, toys, you name it. They create cocoons and I've had to toss countless food items and dog treats and toys. And because months have wings, they have moved out of the pantry to infest the rest of the house now, too. I really delayed writing this review because I wanted to give Petco the opportunity to do the right thing, I called corporate after hearing what the employee said in store and sent them documentation of what I was talking about. Crickets. Called back a month later, was apologized to profusely for not having heard anything back, assured that this would be escalated, and was asked to submit more photos so i did. Called a third time, same outcome. Here we are a year later and I'm still battling the issue. It just blows my mind that this is evidently the way they treat customers. Anybody who is curious, just Google "Petco pantry moth issues". There are entire feeds devoted to it on Reddit. I'm not stupid, I know that pests are an occurrence, but this would never have happened to me and others had Petco dealt with the issue that they acknowledged they were already aware of, instead of taking my money for a product they knew was actively infested. I called again today, was again assured it would be escalated but after all of this, I'm not holding my breath on a solution coming from Petco. DEEPLY disappointing.

I wish they weren't so expensive. And my local store doesn't have them on the bar anymore and has no idea what they are. It didn't seem like they were this expensive before.

I really REALLY want to buy the carob training treats in bulk and have it shipped to me. I see other treat bar dog treats are sold in bulk, but not the ones I need. I am happy to pay, I just get so tired of driving 20+ miles for these.

  1. Hi Delanae, This will be subject for evaluation. Thanks,

Why aren't these available in smaller quantities? I wanted to order for curbside pickup, but I don't need $100+ of each kind. You might think about allowing customization if this curbside pickup is going to be a thing. I'm hassled to have to go in now.

  1. Hi DocMom70, Thank you for your feedback. Smaller packs aren’t available for curbside pickup right now, but we’re working on a solution. Thanks,

Are these treats available NOW in our local stores. They appear to be out often. My little poodle loves these treats, they are not available? Can you explain why there is a shortage?

  1. Hi Irisman, Our local stores control ordering this. We suggest that you coordinate with them. Thanks,

The guest wanted to know how long these treats are good for before it expires,

Where In the U.S.A specifically are these treats made?

What temperature are these treats baked or extruded at? Thank you.

How long are these treats good for until they expire?

Are these treats free of any raw pathogens and a cooked product, eg. not raw?

Why are there no "Guaranteed Analysis" numbers shown? I need protein and fat content before I can even consider this for my dog.

            1. Hi FL Pet All stores were sent ingredient cards with GA’s for every sku in the treat bar and instructed to place next to each treat. Thanks,

Is this 20 - 1 pound bags or Boxes, or just 20 pounds all dumped in one bag. And do they sell this package in the local stores, there Cookie bars are never stocked with very many.

            1. Hi Rogermack50, This is 20 lbs in one bag. Thanks
