The mixture should be improved

Mahidevran

I bought this product two weeks ago, and I find the seeds are very coarse. The seed mixture has whole maize seeds that cannot be eaten by small birds such as finches. Also, the mixture has tiny pieces of gravel. The price point of this product is good, but the quality not so.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Birds stopped visiting after I switched to this

Vino e gatti

I normally buy the no mess bird food from a store that specializes in wild birds and squirrels. I ran out of my normal stuff and since I was already in Petco buying litter, thought I would try this (and I did not want to drive into the next county to that store I normally go to). I noticed gradually the area became messier and even the squirrel that steals the bird seed stopped coming around. So I finally went to the specialty store and they tell me that this must have a lot of fillers, and that the birds kick it around looking for the stuff they can actually eat. Now to figure out what to do with the unused portion of this.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Why doesnt it list in order of weight what is contained in it? I dont buy food with Milo, NO local birds eat it and it just sits on the ground! Corn or cracked corn most birds dont eat but it attracts squirrels. I want to know what is in this.

  1. See my 1 star review. My rough calculations said 73% milo+corn by weight. It was not practical to separate the two, but as a rough guess I would say milo is about 60% overall. But if your birds don't eat milo, they probably won't eat cracked corn. I suspect those who like this feed have a lot of jays and other large birds, but if you have doves, finches, junkos, etc, you will be disappointed.

From the photo looks like this is mostly milo which most birds don't eat. What is the makeup and percentage of seed varieties?

  1. This contains milo, millet, cracked corn, and black oil sunflower. No way to ever know the exact percentage of each. I place this in my bird feeder, and throw it in the yard. Where I live, we mainly have pigeons, doves, lots of squirrels, robins, red birds, and blue jays. I also buy bags of unsalted peanuts for animals and throw that in as well. All of the critters seem to enjoy this stuff, but then again, whatever I can get on sale is what I give them.

Is this bird seed made in the USA?

  1. Hi JaneWTK30, Yes, this a US made bird seed. Thank you

I have a lot of Ducks that come on my property and eat my Wild Bird seed, is this healthy for them. I believe they are Muscovy duck.

  1. Or try to go online and research what ducks can eat? So happy your have wild ducks nearby!!! That is so awesome!! Thank you for feeding them!

Can I get the same price at the store that is online?

  1. I just looked up my store on the site and gave them a call. They even told me when the next sale paper was coming out so I knew to watch for it in my Sunday paper.
