We are getting a 6 week old male shih tzu. Is it ok to plane his potty pad and bed in his playpen? He will be kept in his playpen when we are not home and he will sleep in it over night. When we are home do we keep his potty pad in the play pen so he knows that spot for him to always go? Also do we leave his bed in there for him to go nap when we are home? We will leave the gate to his playpen open when we are home

I want to crate train my 1 year old dog. I bought a "medium" crate for her , shes 25 lbs - aussie/dashund mix so shes kind of long shaped. My 3 month old pup seems to have separation anxiety. My boyfriend and I both work during the day, one of us coming home at lunch to walk her. During the time we are not at the house we put her in a kennel. She barks constantly and has accidents in her kennel. I wanted to get her a gated off play-pen that i could leave her in while we are at work. I figured it is more room to let her roam around a bit and I can put her favorite bed/ toys for comfort. So my dog keeps peeing in her kennel. I have started making more frequent potty breaks and that has helped some. But she still has accidents about twice a week. So I have thought about getting her a smaller kennel. She is in a 42’’ wire kennel. She can lay in a ball in the corner of it and not take up much room. She is too tall for a smaller kennel. I've moved and to get my cat acclimated I've decided I'm going to crate him while we are working. The crate i have is 42"x28"x30", with a dual level. Will this be enough space for my cat? He is 14y/o, and will be crated for 6-8 hours 5 days a week for a few weeks, until he gets used to the area. Of course he'll be inside the house, and let out in the evenings and sometimes for a bit on lunchtime.
