Have a spunky new rescue chihuahua mix and she is skittish. So much so she will resist any efforts to trim her nails. We have 4 dogs so I have trimmed nails hundreds of times--but with Ricki Ricardo, no luck. I sit on the floor and flip them over and cradle them between my legs. My wife distracts them with peanut butter on a spoon. Besides going to a groomer or vet, any ideas? I thought maybe a groomer table might help. Are there premium nail cutters of higher quality than store bought?
My dog has a poop stuck halfway in halfway out. What do we do. I tried wiping it with tp but it’s fairly hard.
i cant get my mini teddy bear to stop dragging his butt therefore really bad breath, ive tried cleaning the anal glands and ive tried four containers of No Scoot but to no avail, any advice would be appreciated
Hi, my dog won’t poop.
I have a Lhasa Apso he’s 3 almost 4 and we’ve never been able to properly walk him as he squeezes out poos he doesn’t need so ends up with diorreha all down the back of him. He can do this up to 10 times on a pretty short walk. Is there any way I can stop this? He doesn’t seem nervous about the walk or anything, he’s a very happy chilled dog at home and when you say to him he’s going on a walk he gets excited so I’m not sure why he’s doing this. Thanks
Good morning, My Chihuahua/Min-pin mix (Schlitzy) has been dragging his rear frequently for about 2-3 weeks. A week ago we had his anal glands expressed and the scooting cont'd. I bought an OTC fenbendazole dewormer, a 3 day course, last dose yesterday, yet the scooting is the same! He eats regularly, behaves regularly (other than scooting) and has stools that are solid. They are more more tan/orange-ish than brown and have had noticeable mucous strands. No vomit or diahrea. What else can I do?
Scoots butt on ground - not often. Deworming again with Pancur. Vet took care of anal gland. Should I change diet or consult local Vet again? Stools are normal.
My dog had a large lump of hard stool stuck to his anal area and was not able to have a bowel moment. I couldnt tell if it was stuck on outside hair or both inside his anal area and outside. I soaked him in warm water and the hard stool fell off and he was able to have a bowel movement. The opening of his anal area seems much larger than usual and swollen. He's keeps having small bowel movements since the hard stool was removed.
My dog isn’t doing hard poop it’s more like goey and green and I’m not sure what to do. he has the right food PetSmart has provided and still hasn’t helped him
Hello sorry to bother you but i wanted to remove dirt from my dog's nose and I found out that it was something attached to my dog afterwards, she's a shih tzu and went to the groom yesterday, maybe it has to do with her nails being to 'sharp/raw' ? So maybe a scab? But the hole kjnd of worries me (a lot)
My dog had a sting hanging from his poop. He is now scared to poop outside and has pooped twice in the house when he never has! He is scared of his own poop and runs away in the middle of pooping.
I how a 10 year yorkie/maltests mix and noticed her front toe nails are very long and curving. Apparently her groomer has not been trimming them, Can they be trimmed with no pain to her or does she need to see her vet.
