I adopted a very overweight dog. I am working on weight management and she has lost some weight but I'm concerned as she gobbles her food down literally in a minute. I just bought the puzzle bowl but she can only reach one morsel at a time using her tongue as she is a big dog. This doesn't seem right either but I don't know. It definitely slowed her eating. Advice please.
Are there specific purposes for a slow feed bowl other than to slow down a dogs eating? Does it help them digest their food better or help them in any specific way? For example my dog eats rather fast, will a slow feed bowl provide any additional benefits besides just slowing down her eating?
What is the best dog bowl material that is non toxic, going to stay clean, not get a film at the bottom and not harbor bacteria?
I bought a slow feeder from the pet store to slow down my cat's eating but she is barely eating and she will walk away from the dish. I don't know what to do if I go back to feeding her like I was she will gorge on her food and then throw it up. How can I get her to start eating more from the slow feeder?
I have a 6 month old female German Shepard mix, she doesn't use her tongue at all. Not to drink, eat or to give kisses. She has never stuck it out of her mouth. Well she eats really fast and I don't want her to get bloat. But she won't eat out of the slow feeding bowls because she won't stick her tongue out her mouth. I've tried the big rock in the bowl she still scarfes her food down, what can I do?
My puppy has been playing with his food bowl and water bowl for a while now, he broke his first bowls. I bought him new ones, but he just keeps on playing with them. Water is clean and he likes his food, so I don't see a problem. How can I make him stop?
Hi, is it necessary or benificial to add water to dry kibble and soak it before feeding? Will this enable them to digest the kibble better? I heard this is helpful and comparable to feeding a canned diet. I would add 1/2 cup per 1/3 cup of kibble. This would make it resemble a canned diet of 80% moisture. Is this a good idea? Also, do you recommend a slow feeder bowl for fast eaters? Or is it ok to use a regular bowl? Mine eats her serving in under a minute (1/3 cup kibble)
My dog keeps eating to fast. She is only 3.5 pounds, but she was choking so I made her drink some water out of a bottle. But how can I make her stop choking and eat slower??
I feed them in separate bowls on each side of the fireplace. They are grazers eat some leave etc. I put morning portion in their bowl and then later if empty evenings. I’d like to them to eat all their dry food in two meals and finish in a timely manner. How to train them to do this without making them get too skinny? And how many cups should I feed them? The bag says 2 1/2-3 but they won’t do that. Younger dog is 8 months They eat Pure Balance Trout n Lentils mixed w/
My cat throws up because she eats way too fast and then chugs water right afterwards. What can I do to stop this? I already have a slow feeder bowl but that hasn’t made any difference, and my other cat has no problems eating at a normal pace. She’s not I’ll, her vomit is always just regurgitated food, and it’s made for sensitive stomachs.
Hi my 6 month old French bulldog doesn’t like to eat or drink out of bowls he tips them over all the time and I think it’s effecting his eating and drinking and he isn’t gaining weight in his hips they are skinny
How many cups per day should we feed an american bulldog 3 month old puppy
