What a piece of crap! We have a Shih Tzu puppy that we bought this for. She's 8 lbs and barely fits in it. And since she's a puppy she peed on it. We removed the cover to wash it and now there is no way to put it back over the foam core which does not flex. Waste of money!!!

I like the booster seat overall. I do wish, however, that the channel through which the seatbelt is fed were constructed with a "lip" to catch the seatbelt. If there were to be an accident, I can see the seat coming up off the passenger seat because, aside from the seatbelt tension, there isn't another measure to secure the seat in place. Otherwise, my mini long hair dachsie and I hope to enjoy some scenic cruising. :)

I choose this particular car seat because my dog was able to sit higher up in the car. I have found that my dogs car sickness is not as severe if she sits higher up to put her head out the window without having to struggle and she can now see her surroundings easier. So far it is working well.

We absolutely love this car seat . It's very important though that your pet is wearing a harness with this seat and strap is connected to harness.. My yorkahire terrier loves it as well.

It is large enough for my 6 lb chihuahua. He can stretch out in it. I can fit another 10 lb. dog with him if needed. Microfiber material. You can wash it in cold water. I hang dry it. My dog also needs to be more strapped in by taking seat belt and applying it around carrier. It is for a more secure and safe car ride. I also notice he will sleep in it even when carrier is put next to my bed at night. My dog feels secure and happy.

If your pet fits the dimensions of this product comfortably when the product is fully assembled, the product will support the weight of the pet. For small pets only. Medium interior dimensions: 13.5"L x 9.5"W x 3"H. Large interior dimensions: 17.75"L x 12.5"W x 4"H. This can be used as a car seat. All you have to do is to take your seat belt and place it underneath booster and insert latch plate into buckle until you hear a click.

Can this booster car seat be used in the back seat? If so, will a small dog be able to see out the window when not on the console?

Yes this one is made for being used in either the back seat or front passenger seat. I do not believe it is intended for use on the console. For a 17 pound dog, you probably want to go with the bigger one, since its rated for 25 pounds.
