We're pretty sure our male German Shepherd has a hygroma on his left elbow (We have laminate flooring). This site doesn't recommend draining it. We are enroute to purchase a dog bed now.
What pain medicine and/or supplements can Watson take given his low body weight of 3.3 pds at 7 months? He's been rather sick, and the doctor noted his back leg muscles had begun to atrophy. He's trying to move, but it's obvious he's in a lot of discomfort. Could an orthopedic bed help at all as well? I'm fighting alongside him in his recovery.
Hi, I have a great Pyrenees's/Anatolian shepherd. She's almost 6yrs old, 105 lbs She has arthritis in her hind legs and back. Her vet has her on osteo biflex and prevocox 227 mg daily. She's active. But getting up and moving around for the first couple minutes is really hurting her. After that she moves stiffly. What else can I do for her?
My pet has torn all his beds and now sleeps on a blanket or a bedsheet. I hope that won't cause any joint problems in the long run? It seems that he is comfortable sleeping this way. Is it safe?

Hello, my dog won’t sit/lay down for longer than 2 minutes. Recently was diagnosed with Arthritis (2 months ago) but was told it wasn’t severe enough yet to require surgery/meds. He’s been acting weird the last couple of hours, its Easter Sunday so vets are closed so is there any medicine we can buy at the store to ease his pain so he can sleep until we can see our vet tomorrow. Brought my dog home from 3 day stay at vet for pancreatitis, of course he has meds and low fat diet, hes a bit obese at 108 lbs. my concern is control of his legs under him, i have wood floors but even on the rug he is having a hard time with strength to walk.
Hi I am looking for advice. My dog is 17 years old and has arthritis in her front paw. Her paw is pretty deformed as a result of many operations over the years. She is in very good health apart from her paw but she is uncomfortable and limping. She is already on steroids, tramodol, you move supplements, We have changed her food to senior dog food and keep her paw covered with a rubber sock on walks. Is there anything else I can do?

Hello, I have a 7 year old black lab. He's a big boy who gets very hot in warm weather so likes to lie on the coolest surface he can find which is always hard. Consequently, he has callouses on his elbows but they have become a lot bigger this year and one of them looks sore. I just wondered what Ii could do to alleviate this problem. My 7.5 yr old spayed female, 150lb newfoundland - king shepherd has huge (3-4 inch) warty calluses on her elbows that have started cracking & bleeding. I have bandaged the right/worse one with antiseptic and it got softer and MORE "oozy" and granular, and I think infected. There is now swelling down at her wrist. Vet tomorrow but anything you can tell me to help ....appreciated THX
