This was a replacement for the one I bought several years ago. It’s so easy to put in and makes it so easy for the dogs. I prefer the stiff plastic door not a flap because of the wind blowing the flap so easy. This clear door also lets the dogs look in or out before going through the door.

Easy to use..except for my cats who needed a training session. But they're getting it now. I'd suggest having someone with a real tool set install this, but it's very easy once you get the hole cut in the door

My handyman installed it in about 15 minutes. Good size for my 11 lbs. cat. Good that the door is clear. A minor problem is that the magnet is a little too weak, preventing the door from closing completely...mainly stays open (a bit) on the lock side. My cat figured it out in 24 hours, even though going OUT drops down 3 steps.

I bought this set-up as a replacement for a door I have not been able to replace. The opening is larger than the last one, but the template included will make it easy to enlarge to the correct size. The plastic control knobs may endure the activity, that is pending. In my case, I would like to keep the dogs out of the cat room and the litter box and food. Mine is used indoors, so if the knobs break, not the end of the world. However, it is nice to be able to secure the cats when work is being done on the house, so they don't go out the door with the carpenter!

Can this cat door be installed in a hollow interior door? I just moved into a home with a laundry room off the kitchen, and want the litter box to be in that room, and not in my closet any more. I want to close the laundry room door, however.

Sorry the Tubby kat is designed for a door installation. However Petco offers our All Weather insulated series of pet doors that are designed for wall or door installation. Four sizes are available and a wall tunnel kit, sold separately makes installation much easier. This door series has 2 flaps. One on the inside and one on the outside to protect the interior of the wall. For a wall installation, this is the best choice. It also comes with a lock out slide to restrict the pet's access when necessary.
