Questions
What is the thickness of the panel? I see 2.3 inches in the description but most sliding doors are just over an inch. Is the description accurate?
Will this fit if my sliding door height is 76 5/8 inches?
Is this dual pane and double flap?
what is the flap size for the XL flap and stepover height?
- I just received the XL size, the step up is 9" and flap size is 15"h x 10.5"w.(Total height from floor 24") The XXL size step up is 9 " and the flap size is 20"h x 15"w. (Total height from floor 29")

Can you lock your door even with the sliding door attached?
- Our doggy door is in a Sliding Glass door at the rear of the house and fenced yard but when we leave for a day or more we have a wooden stick we use in the slider, for the pup to use the restroom...lol. The stick is more secure than mounting a latch on the new doggie frame.

How high up is the flap from the bottom of the panel? I think a medium would be to small but is the next size up higher up as well as larger?
- The "step over" is 9" on the inside. Might be more from the outside if there's a lip on the exterior.

How much does it weigh?
I want to use this in our gazebo sliding door but we only have 73 1/2" height. Will this adjust to that or can the bottom be cut down or will it fall apart if I have my husband try to cut a couple inches off the bottom? I can't find one short enough.
What is the height of the step-over at the bottom of the doggy door? And what are the interior dimensions of the part of the door that the dog walks through? Our dog is stumbling a lot and has trouble bending down.
Is this door easy to put in and take out so that I can take it out at night?
- I do not take it out daily. I use a shortened broom stick in the door for a security lock. You can put a hole in the dog door side for the slider door lock to hook into, but I choose a broom stick, for a possible resale of dog door and is safer. I did have the adjustable top piece trimmed about a half inch was just a little too tall, I just had a friend trim it a bit. Overall, the door is GREAT our chihuahua is older and learned how to use it within minutes. I would suggest the purchase but have a little bit of skill for the install, just DIY type skill.
