Thank you for your question. The Turtle-Topper is designed to be used with any clamp style lamp. There are places built into the lid where lamps can be attached on 2 sides of the metal grate.

The ramp is slippery so you may need to add something for them to hold onto as they go up this should help.

I just installed it today, and yes ramp is not long enough. I am brainstorming a way to add length to the ramp, as well as give it some texture since my turtle dive-bombed off of it and crashed into the bottom of my tank. I was thinking of maybe affixing his old floating island to the bottom of the ramp so that when he steps on it, it sinks into the water???

you could most likely use egg crate with something on top or just plane egg crate.

Thank you for your interest in our Turtle Topper. This topper will fit most tanks up to 55 gallons. The distance from the front glass wall to the back glass wall can not be more than 13" for it to fit over the end of the tank. However, we did design extensions in order for the topper to be used on tanks up to 19.5". It should be available for purchase within the next few weeks.
