Poor goldfish

Our goldfish was about 3 years old, fairly large, we went away for 3 nights and this feeder killed her, or starved her, not sure which but it was definitely this feeder.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I get these for both of my tanks. I have goldfish and tetras in 1 tank and guppies, Cory catfish and a rainbow shark in the other. They all love these food blocks. It makes cleaning so much easier, less mess than flakes

Yes, I recommend this product.

Dead fish!

We have used this on both of our last trips. Both times we have come back to dead fish, and a barely dissolved block. Poor fish starved to death! Ph was within norms, air stone circulates just fine, temp is an even 72d, tank is 10gallons. In fact, from our trip over labor day weekend, there is still a chunk left (it got knocked under this decor during my cleaning of the tank as I took the photo). Why in the world is this much left 3 weeks later? Been watching it slowly dissolve away, never releasing actual food. Dont trust unless you too want dead fish.

No, I do not recommend this product.

It says 14 days, for how many fish? I have 8 small fish, danios and tetras.

We have two fancy guppies and a zebra nerite snail. Can we find this at Petsmart? Will it hurt our snail?

    1. Too much calcium in the water can kill a snail as it can cause a calcium overdose. Be careful that you do not have any other form of calcium in the water that might contribute to an overdose for your snails.

Does this food work for a betta fish?

Should I buy this? It seems like some people had bad reviews and others great. I need some help!

      1. I have not had any issues with Penn Plax Fish Shape Vacation Fish Feeder designed for one week or less. I primarily purchase Pro Balance (up to 14 days) Vacation-Feeders the most and have had no problems with them.

I bought this for my betta but look like he is hungry when I put regular food he is eating I m so confused how it works and will it okay if I don’t give food and see please let me know

      1. I can feed mine and in 5 mins feed em again . They are always hungry

Will this work for tetra glofish?

Hello, I have a 10 gallon tank with five GloFish Tetras. I will be gone on a five day vacation. Will this be enough for my five Glo Tetras?

Hi, I have a 10 gallon saltwater fish tank with a couple clownfish, could this feed them for 2 weeks? If not, how am I able to feedback them while away for 2 weeks at a time, and have no neighbors or friends close by.

          1. Thanks for your question. Yes, this should work well for your clownfish.

I have 2 gold fish and 5 white cloud minnows. Since the minnows stay towards the top of the tank will this work?

          1. Thanks for your question. Your minnows will have no problem swimming down to get food once they realize that the feeder is in your tank.

I bought a two pack last year in December and only used one so I still have one left over... it is in a zip lock, is it still good? Or should I just buy a new one? Not sure how long they stay good for..
