Disappointing Fish Feeder

Dbteacher

I purchased this 7 day fish feeder, placed it in my aquarium, and left with peace of mind that my fish were going to be fed while I was away for the week. Upon my return 7 days later, I was shocked to see that the entire crab feeder was intact and the same size it was 7 days earlier before leaving. So, my fish had not been fed because the feeder did not activate to feed them. Fortunately, my fish were still living. I used this brand of feeder before with no issues so why now? I’m concerned about trying this feeder ever again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Guppies and tetras didn’t like it

Tried this for a 7 day vacation and came back with a tank of super starving fish. My guppies and tetras just did not like it. They all looked super weak and were all just hanging in there until I fed them their normal fish food. My tank water is still pretty clear tho other than the white powder residue.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Trying A Different Brand Next Time

I'm a realist. I knew leaving a fizzing white block of "food" in the bottom of my tank for 6 days was not going to be pretty just based on the fact that leaving any food in there for 6 days is not great but I was leaving so I gave this one a chance. After 6 days I returned to a white powder across the bottom of the entire tank. The 6 day old filter was covered in an unnatural slime. Ok....to be expected. The fish however looked as tho they aged 5 years. All fins are rotting and they are very lethargic. They look like they are going to pull through fine with the correct water adjustments but it certainly wasn't a vacation for them. Definitely don't recommend and I'll be trying a different brand.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this because I was going to be doing a staycation. Since it is good for 7 days or more and I would be gone only 4 days I decided to put this in early. At first the Corys were interested however after that nothing. The Tetra didn't even bother with this. I figured that they just needed time so I just left it and when I came back it appear that this thing only desolved and the fish didn't like it, didn't even go by it. Then it made my water super cloudy so I had to clean the tank. I will never get this again.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Horrible mess it left while it dissolved in the tank. I have bought 7 day food but never this product. Don't plan to again.

The short story, we left 2 goldfish in a 10 gallon tank, filter on high(its adjustable), lights on a timer. We dropped this in, came back 5 full days later, they were alive, water was crystal clear, no residue, and about 15 % of it was left. Will definitely stock up on this one.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Can I use these in a 70 gallon tank with African Cichlids for 6 days?

Will this work for a tetra glofish?

    1. Hello! I think so, we used it for our tank with a catfish, neon tetras, gourami, goldfish and some other one off species. It might cloud up the water a little bit, but it clears up fairly quickly once you are back and remove and left overs.

Will this work for goldfish in a water lily pot?

    1. Hello HiPeni, Yes! Our vacation feeders are safe to use with all aquarium fish.
