The Pelewensis Butterfly is truly stunning display of the colors of a rainbow. They are fairly hardy and will adapt well to life in an aquarium if acclimated properly. Unlike other butterflies, Pelewensis Butterflies should not be housed in groups. They won't do well with fish that are overly aggressive, but they will also nip and pick at fish that are very timid. Like most butterflies, we don't recommend placing the Latticed in reef aquariums because they are very likely to consume a variety of coral polyps. This butterfly will grow to be about 5" in size and doesn't need as large of an aquarium as some other butterflies. The Pelewensis' body is vibrant yellow with hints of orange and has black bands making a diagonal pattern. Their fins are lined with white, yellow and black. The dorsal fins are jagged and can get caught in nets.

ACCLIMATION: Avoid exposing new aquatic life to bright lights after opening the box. Turn off aquarium lights prior to floating aquatic life. Allow the sealed bag with your new fish to float in your aquarium for at least 15 minutes (but no longer than one hour) to ensure the water in the bag matches the temperature in your aquarium. A bacteria booster addition can assist with the addition of new aquatic life. Petco offers free water testing in store to determine if your water is safe for the addition of new aquatic life. DIET: A well-balanced diet consists of a variety of flakes, pellets, freeze-dried and frozen foods, depending on the species. FEEDING: Feed sparingly and no more than fish can eat in 1-2 minutes. Overfeeding can quickly foul the water, especially in smaller aquariums.
If we need to contact you for any reason about your order, shipping of your package may be affected. Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email with your order summary. Orders are subject to verification of payment information by phone or email.

Hello! I'm looking to add some additional fish to my 36 gallon reef tank. So far, I have an orange firefish, 2 ocellaris clowns, a fire shrimp, a peppermint shrimp, and 4 blue legged hermit crabs. Do you have any recommendations other than damsels?
My lovebird, Clover, seems to have what I speculate to be pbfd. The breeder I got him from seemed a bit sketchy about his feathers, it's also noteworthy that this was the last lovebird in stock. I only took one photo because Clover looks like he's ready to sleep, but I think it shows a lot with his droppings behind him. I'm planning on getting him DNA tested but for now, I want to see what a professional thinks.
