So happy that I found this product. No dust, made from hay, so healthy, and it can go straightinto the compost. Our guinea pig likes it, prefers to paper-based. Works very well; absorbant and easy to spot clean until ready for a complete refresh. Highly recommend.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great odor control and you need very little - just thin layer, and it lasts for long time. My bunnies love it.

This litter is very absorbent and only has a little dust in the bottom of the bag due to settling. I have used this litter for a year and personally love all Oxbow products and really do not used any other brands.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Does this break up into sawdust?

  1. Yes, and at that point it needs to be changed.

Is this safe to use for bedding for chickens and quail? Will they eat it?

Can I use this as cat litter??

    1. We have used it as cat litter. Our cats are happy with it, but it doesn't work as well for them as other cat litters I've used.

Does this litter contain baking soda?

    1. Thank you for your question. The Oxbow BeneTerra Eco-Straw is 100% Natural Plant Fiber (wheat straw).

Just wonder, does it have strong smell?

    1. The litter itself is 'odorless'. It doesn't prevent odors from the litter as well as other products I've tried in my guinea pig's or rabbit's cages.

    guinea pigs

    1. My piggies didn't eat them. They can tell what is food and what is not food.

    would my rabbit eat this

    1. My rabbit didn't eat any. Bunnies can tell what is edible, and what is just fun to chew on. My bunny just liked digging in the box of this litter. No eating was observed.
