The Nina Ottosson by Outward Hound Paw N' Play interactive dog puzzle is a fun way to enrich your dog's playtime and get them excited about problem-solving games! This Level 2 Intermediate dog puzzle keeps dogs busy with a mentally stimulating treat challenge that activates your dog's senses and taps into their natural instincts to hunt and forage for food. As a result, our dog enrichment toys provide mental and physical exercise, help relieve stress, and reduce boredom for happier, healthier pups. Great for small, medium, and large dogs, the Paw N' Play features a large base you can fill with up to 1/3 cup of your pup's favorite dry dog treats or food to motivate them to solve the puzzle. Watch your dog use their brain to determine how to release the treats, then press the handles down to move the "paws" and grab the food inside. The best part? Multiple dogs can play at once.

  • - Level 2 Intermediate dog puzzle - a great way to introduce treat games to dogs or puppies who have little to no experience while still providing an interactive challenge for smart dogs
  • - Dogs push the handles to move the "paws" and grab and release the treats; multiple dogs can play at once - entertainment for the whole pack
  • - Food is released in a slow, random pattern to keep dogs guessing
  • - Fits up to 1/3 cup of dry food or treats - use it as a puzzle feeder at mealtime to help slow eating pace
  • - Think N' Thrive dog enrichment toys provide mental stimulation, help relieve anxiety, and provide both mental and physical exercise - 15 minutes of mental stimulation is equal to 30 minutes of physical activity, giving dogs and puppies of all ages and sizes the exercise they crave

Meh toy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This enrichment toy is mediocre. I'll be the first to admit my dog is *not* smart, but oh boy she CANNOT figure this very simple toy out. However, even if she was very smart, it just doesn't work very well. It's a fun idea but the buttons get stuck and the grabbers have a hard time capturing even small, light treats.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All 3 of.my.dogs loved this enrichment toy! It took a little time for them to figure it out but once we showed them they had so much fun! They use it a couple times each week now and don't get bored.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like how it was easy to use and it was already to set up and my puppy was curious and starting to play with right away. It was very effective in teaching my puppy how to play.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog loves this thing! It works so well, holds up to her hitting it constantly and is safe for her. It is such great quality. I am so impressed at how well it works!

Not worth it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the idea of this product but unfortunately it didn’t deliver. The paddles took some strength to push so my little dog was unable to push them down all the way. Only certain treats will work too, they have to be tiny and fairly round. My dogs figured out they could tip the thing over a few times and the lid would come off, so it took more effort to fill it with treats than it was worth.

Engaging But Challenging

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently tried the Nina Ottosson by Outward Hound Paw N’ Play Dog Puzzle with my cockapoo. While it's a bit challenging for my dog to catch all the treats and he hasn’t quite gotten the hang of it yet, I appreciate the mental stimulation it provides. I love that it's made from safe materials free of BPA, PVC, lead, and phthalates. The puzzle is durable and easy to fill and clean, making it a convenient and fun addition to our playtime routine. Despite the initial difficulty, I'm hopeful my dog will improve with more practice.

Stimulating and fun for dogs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog had lots of fun trying this out. He had a bit of trouble figuring it out at first but we babysit a family dog on the weekends and it was stimulating for the both of them. My dog is small but pretty aggressive but the toy is durable so far it’s held up. It’s easy to load up either way treats as well. I think it’s definitely a good purchase for any dog owner

Fun, but needs improvement.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dogs have owned several puzzles from Outward Hound over their lifetime and normally we love them. The Paw N Play puzzle is easier to clean than other puzzles/games we've had for them in the past. It reminds me of Hungry Hungry Hippos, but for dogs, which I think is a fun idea. The slow/random release pattern was frustrating to my dogs – they expected the treat to come out when they pushed down on the handle. Because the treat didn't come out each time they pushed the handles, they started to push the puzzle around the floor and paw at the handles multiple times. This caused the lever to disconnect from the little paw inside. It wasn't a big deal and was easy to put back in place, but to have to continuously take the puzzle apart to fix it is probably something that a lot of pet parents won't want to deal with. The packaging says this puzzle has a non-slip base but we had to hold it still in order for our dogs to play with it properly. I'm sure it would work better on carpet or a rug.
