This review is for Senior and the Original dry. Would be five star except something has changed in recipe that’s resulting in very large stools, the kibble no longer has a fresh mildly fishy smell and looks drier. I’ve been using Orijen since 2012 with tremendous success - as evidenced by healthy, strong dogs with great hair. I waited a year before posting this review to see if my experience was an anomaly, but the kibble hasn’t returned to what I used to purchase. It’s not working for us but hopefully works for others and is worth trying. One of the features of Orijen is dogs eat it right away - no gravy or “sweeteners” needed. With regret, I’m trying other brands.

Our dogs have been fed this kibble with the same version of FD from Orijen and they have loved it and thrived on it. This most recent bag that was delivered on July 18th, instantly made our dogs sick with vomitting and bloody diarrhea. Which they never get. I don't know if sourcing has changed or formula but it did smell 'off' I cannot find a lot number on the bag.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I’ve never seen my chihuahua eat dry kibble and this one she does! I am going to try the one with grains as sometimes she needs a little extra fiber but she really loves this food and I’m impressed by the ingredients. This is a picky little chihuahua win!

I KNOW, ITS SPENDY, talking from someone who owns 3 Siberian Husky females in their prime. I buy this bag of food at 13lbs every month on subscription to add with the Acana Fit &Trim 23lb to help keep cost down. I won't use any brand of food moving forward as this brand proved it's worth. I raised my first Siberian Husky on Orijen and Acana during holiday months her entire 2-years of life and she was flawless and people begged to be called for her puppies (even though I don't believe in breeding). After a few years in getting our 3rd female husky, we decided to find other alternatives due to cost, but honestly, their behavior changed drastically, my oldest developed allergies, the youngest one acts like she is starving all the time and will try eating anything including her poop, and they ALL rather forage to look for something to eat ALL the time rather than playing and running. I decided to switch back to this food.

Have there been any changes to the ingredients/formulation and or the source of the ingredient since the Mars acquisition of Champion Petfoods?

Did Orijen change how the make their kibble? It used to say slow baked under low temperatures and now it doesn’t. My dog is prone to forming lipomas and I try to choose non-extruded kibble.

I bought this because of the quality, but I'm having second thoughts about the really high protein and the grain-free formula (the best foods all seemed to be grain-free). Would it be a problem to mix in a little well-cooked brown rice and oatmeal?
