What would the directions be to use this food as a topper? My dogs get the Origen Regional Red Grain Free recipe and we wanted to supplement some of the dry food for this.
- Our dry kibble foods, freeze-fried foods, and wet foods are all complete and balanced diets, formulated to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles. Therefore, these foods can be used interchangeably with confidence that your healthy pet is receiving all the nutrients they need. If you would like to add variety to your dog’s diet, we recommend that kibble makes up the base of the diet and wet food and/or freeze-dried can be used to supplement. Just recused this little guy... very malnourished, just started gaining some weight. He is missing many teeth so eating is a problem, he does he the small bites. My dog has been on a homemade diet after being diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease. I have been giving high quality lean protein with white rice & squash along with supplements-Hawthorne berry, CoQ10, ipakitine & vitamin b12. Now that I've reduced the protein even more in his meals, he doesn't seem as interested in eating as he was. Can I add chicken broth? Homemade with just dark chicken meat - no bones as I know they are high in phosphorus or will this addition be too high in protein?

This question is for david elezbeth: Is 30-50% carbs an appropriate amount in dog food? I just started my dog on honest kitchen dehydrated dog food and these are the typical range in carbs. Is this to much? Also some reviewers have posted that their dog had more voluminous stool and went more frequently with bits of food still present in the stool. Is this normal? Chloe seems to be doing fine but I am noticing the bits of food in her stool. Is this ok to continue with this food?
