Plecostomus always eats all of this - there is never any leftover in the tank. It does need to be clipped or weighted down, otherwise it will float around.

I have two mystery snails, Sven and Dmitri, and they are so awesome! Sven is a picky eater though and may I say this is his FAVORITE! I’ve never seen him chimp down on anything quite like this stuff!

They seemed like a good idea and the reviews all looked mostly positive. But our 2 Fancy Oranda wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. We had a 3 inch piece held by a clip inside their tank and not one nibble in 12 hrs. They didn’t even want to examine it. So we decided to remove it after letting them have it in there overnight and the next morning, right when we touched it, the whole thing fell to pieces and made a mess all over the tank :-/ ! Luckily we were scheduled to clean the tank the next day anyway, so we went ahead & cleaned it then. But our Oranda, who absolutely love kale, arugula, spinach and peas and their high quality Repashy freshly mixed food cubes, and always seem hungry!, felt this seaweed wasn’t worth even trying. And we didn’t like the mess it made.

Cats LOVE Seaweed!!! I have a tabby named Fishtopher who just absolutely DESTROYS this stuff! Good to find a product that's safe in small amounts for my little "fishy" that's only ingredient is seaweed!!

Does the seaweed disintegrate in the water?

It didn’t in my tank. But, if you don’t have something to anchor it or the clip to hold it down in the water, it will float. If you put it directly in a strong flow path, it probably would some. Honestly, my fish did not give it time to disintegrate. Once they realized it was there, they ate it very quickly.

Is your cat interested ??! II think it would be great for a cat if you can get it to consume it. Some dogs will eat seaweed butI I know GOATS go crazy for seaweed and dry kelp as well.

Yes. I use to have goldfish and they love it! Definitely safe and I recommend it personally! Omega One fish food is the only brand I use.

Okay, so I have three questions. 1.) About how big are these Seaweed sheets? 2.) Does it have sea salt? And 3.) Is it safe for freshwater aquarium use?

Hi TheFishCake, Here are the answers: 1.)The seaweed sheets are 2.75 inches wide x 7.5 inches tall 2.) This product contains only the sodium that is naturally occurring in the seaweed when harvested. There are no added salts. 3.) Yes, it is perfectly safe for use in the freshwater aquarium. Thanks.
