Puppybone can be washed in soap and water, or sterilized by boiling. Replace this Puppybone when the knuckles at the end of the bone are chewed down. If your puppy can bite off large pieces of Puppybone, then he has outgrown this product. At this stage, a larger sized Nylabone and Gumabone product will better suit his chewing needs.

I do recommend this for puppies to chew on. I immediately took it away once I saw my puppy be able to break it. He recently puked a small piece of it that I didn’t notice made it through.

I bought this a few weeks ago after my shih-tzu destroyed his rope toy. A few so far he really seems to enjoy it and it's held up very well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My dog loves this teething toy! She will not stop chewing on it and she loves the flavor! She even sleeps with it! Everytime I try to take it away she growls at me lol! I would recommend this chew toy to anyone! she loves it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this Nylabone Just for Puppies Teething Chew Toy (Chicken Flavor) for my puppy. This toy is made from a softer material than the hard ones that Nylabone makes and needless to say, I had to take it and throw it away within five minutes of giving it to my puppy because he was tearing pieces off of it at a very quick pace and trying to eat them. I will not allow this type of bone in my home anymore unless it is the more solid version that we normally buy which holds up much better.

My puppy is 7 month old English bulldog and recently he loves this type of chew bones but literally he has chewed and has eaten it away is that ok or do I need to take it away?

While many pups safely and successfully use our Nylabone Puppy Chew toys, some puppies can be too strong for the softer material, especially if they have any permanent teeth (usually develop around 6 months). We recommend our Strong Chew toys for tough chewers or our Power Chew toys for the most intense chewers. Always supervise the use of all chews & toys. Products not intended to be eaten or ingested. Be sure to supervise your dog while they are chewing to ensure they do not bite off or ingest pieces larger than a grain of rice.

Puppy Chew® bones are made from soft polymer – they are designed for young, teething puppies before they get any permanent teeth. While non-toxic, these bones are not digestible. During normal chewing, tiny bristle-like projections are raised which help clean the teeth. These tiny pieces (about the size of a small grain of rice) are designed to pass through if ingested. However, a dog should not be able to bite off larger than rice-size pieces of any non-edible chew. If your dog is able to bite off larger than rice-sized pieces, take the chew away and replace it with a harder nylon Dura Chew bone.
