This is not a consumable product but small shavings (no larger than a grain of rice) should pass through. However, a dog should not be able to break off large pieces of any Nylabone non-edible chew. No dog toy is totally indestructible. Frequently inspect your Nylabone before giving it to your dog to make sure it's whole and intact, with no missing pieces. Replace when the knuckles are worn down, or if it becomes too small for your dog to chew safely. Be sure to choose the right size and formulation for your dog's chewing style.

During normal chewing, tiny bristle-like projections are raised which help clean the dog's teeth. These tiny pieces (about the size of a small grain of rice) are designed to pass through if ingested. Our puppy died from ingesting this toy.
My dog died from ingesting this toy. She chewed the toy for under a minute, ingested a small portion of the toy, got a blockage and that led to sepsis, and died tragically under one year old. The rubber comes apart too easily, and the nubs on the toy cause lodging in the intestine/stomach wall. Do not ever buy this toy.

Complete waste of money
I purchased this for our puppy and 5 minutes after she got it; she had one in pieces. This teething toy is way to soft and a complete waste of money.

Do not buy
My 10 weeks old shiba puppy loved it at first but after a few days it made his gums bleed. Thankfully his teeth and gums look okay but I would recommend the Kong chew toys instead, they are softer on the his teeth and gums and he loves them!

How is the harness put on? Also, with the chest panel, will it work with Easy Walk harnesses?
- Thank you for your question. The chest strap wraps around. The only style of harness that would work with this jacket would be a front connecting harness.

Is there an opening for leash or harness?
- Thank you for your interest in Drs. Foster and Smith. The opening for the leash/harness is on the front of the coat by the neck of the dog. There is no additional opening for a harness on the back of the coat.
