Cat urinary track infection
A fellow pet owner suggested Vetoquinol Methigel for my cat who had a history of bladder stones (a calcium stone) 8-10 years ago. Does this work effectively to balance the urinary pH?
I have several cats, but only one of them has been peeing often on my bed lately. She is 3 years old, and she poops in the litter box, but pees on my bed. She weights around 10 pounds, and seems to be healthy, and she doesn't seem to be in any noticeable pain. I was told by the animal feed store, that she could have an urinary tract infection and to give her 250 mg of Amoxicillin once in her mornings wet cat food, and one 250 mg again at night. Is this correct? Susan Schreffler
My 13 y/o chubby male cat just had PU surgery 10 days ago but is still suffering from inflammation, urethral spasms, and unable to urinate on his own. They've had to put catheters in him 3 x's since his surgery. Prazosin is not working (he's been taking it for 1 month), we've tried Onzior with Valium for 3 days (that got him to pee once a day). But those were short term meds. He was then switched to Phenoxybenzamine along with xanax. That made him dizzy, very lethargic, dazed, diarrhea, vomited,
Is there anything I can do to help/relief my cat with a uti. Cant get into see vets till tomorrow as emergency is busy all night and I feel so sorry for her 2nd one in 4 months. Thanks
My 8 y/o male cat had his first bout of cystitis a few weeks ago, my vets only solution was to give Rx food (Hills, Royal Canin or ProPlan) these all have fish products in them (even non fish flavors) and my cat is allergic. They have no other suggestions and said he will have another issue if he's not on that food. I've read about Wysong Uretic wet food, Wysong Biotic ph- supplement, Cystease, Tinkle Tonic, etc - would anything else work as an alternative? PLEASE HELP!
Where do I get cat flavored meds?
Took my 1 yr old male cat Bailey to vet for not seeing him pee that much. She inserted him and got some urine (said he had a little crust down there, not sure what she meant but he does sit on litter). Sample showed no crystals or blood but his ph level was 8, which she said could have been from eating 2 hours prior. I know ph should be at least a 6, how can i help get it to that? I did buy some bladder support powder from Mercola pets and i put a small ice cube in his food. Thank you.
I think my dog has an Uriary Trac Infection
the cat seems to be going the the bathroom more frequent but is in there longer than normal and goes very little when she tries to pee. i think she might have a uti. is there something over the counter?
What are the best ways to reduce the risk of urinary issues in cats?
Port has some obvious internal damage of some sort going on that is causing chronic UTI/Cystitis. Do pet supplements geared toward urinary health etc help at all?
