Novox relieves pain and inflammation caused by arthritis and other joint problems to help your dog maintain regular activity level and quality of life. It is also given to help reduce pain associated with surgeries. Novox is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug or NSAID. These types of drugs inhibit the cell's production of prostaglandins, which are chemicals made by the cells to perform specific functions, such as triggering inflammation. Various NSAIDs work differently on different dogs, so if you think your dog is suffering from the pain of arthritis, discuss the use of a NSAID, including Novox, with your veterinarian. Novox is labeled for dogs, but it may also be prescribed for some other species such as small animals and birds. The safe use of Novox in dogs less than 6 weeks of age has not been evaluated.

My dog is on long-term pain medication: Carprofen 50mg twice daily. I ran out of pills this morning (Sunday) and my vet is closed until tomorrow morning. Is there something non-prescription I can give her tonight?
I gave my dog a Previcox pill (half of 227 mg) a couple nights ago for sudden pain he was having after going to the park (he had FHO surgery couple months ago) He was still in pain so today the vet prescribed him Vetprofen 100mg to take for 15 days. I forgot to mention that he was given another NSAID recently and that you're not supposed to give 2 nsaids "together". I already gave him one VetProfen pill earlier. Is this bad? Im supposed to give his next pill now but dont know if i should
My two standards poodles had a pretty hard collision playing ball. One was fine, the other was limping for awhile after. He is walking normal now, but does appear sore. We have Carprofen on hand because this has happened so many times. Is it safe to give him 50mg of Carprofen? He is also on carafate and omeprazole for acid refulx. I just wanted to make sure there are no drug interactions since he was not on these the last time he had Carprofen.
My dog is on hip and joint supplements and his knee pops out i was massage him and when he got up he limped a little the vet has carprofen and today is has last pill
