Sturdy gate with metal clip

Very sturdy gate. Plus it has the metal locking clip. The ones available at big box stores have a plastic clip that is very difficult to use with arthritic hands. But Northern States is made the right way and that's why i bought it.

This was exactly what we were looking for. It's tall enough that my dogs won't jump over it and portable. We can use it in any entry without having to unscrew or dissemble it. It's easy to shove in a closet too if we aren't using it. Would definitely recommend. I didn't give it 5 stars because when widening or shortening the gate, it isn't the smoothest like similar gates I've had in the past.

I bought two out of necessity. It actually is not that bad since it serves its purpose(of blocking doorways without the need to drill holes in the wall) and once you get accustomed to how it slides to open and close, it becomes a functional piece of pet furniture:)

Does this extra-wide have the same latch as the regular size gate (as pictured on that site)? It seems many of this style gate has been changing the latch from just pushing down so the clip fastens to a plastic sliding latch that needs 2 hands for. Thanks
- I open our extra wide gates with one hand. It’s a squeeze of a button then the latch slides.

No info on minimum and maximum expansion. Will it work for a 48" opening?
- I don't work for north states. I was just looking at this product and the reviews. It does show the min. And max. width if you click on "attributes and specifications.
