Birds afraid of it maybe
Birds don't go near it. Not sure if it's the suet but not one bird has been able to eat from it if they tried

Didn’t last
I loved the look of these feeders and that they held two normal suet cakes, but after 6 months one is broken. The plastic hub that holds the handle on, just cracked. I’ll wire it up somehow, but it should not have broken like that. It didn’t make it through a winter yet. My feeders attract nothing bigger than a bluejay. So, it wasn’t squirrels doing damage. Just a crappy plastic part, I guess.
No, I do not recommend this product.
