No smell--easy to clean!

Okay, actual review here because I was cleaning out the coop this morning, and every single time, I congratulate myself for buying this coop! I was worried because it is on the small side (though there is a jumbo version available). I have 6 chickens in here, but they are mostly bantams, so they fit just fine. If I were to get more, I would either get the jumbo version or another one of these sized ones. But on to the cleaning aspect... I have a number of boot trays that I would use under starter plants, so I put a couple of these in the bottom. They pull right out of the nesting box area and I scrape them off with a large drywall tool. You could either rinse the boot trays out, or if you have extra like I do, switch them out every few days with another set and and leave those out to get rained on/rinsed out. If anything got dropped around the boot trays, I just use the scraper either from the nest box or the front door and scoop it all out. Everything can be completely scraped up, even the messy ones, and their coop is 100% poop-free! Absolutely no smell. It takes less than 5 minutes to do this (and would probably be a little easier if it were raised up--we have ours sitting on about 6 cinder blocks). They like to sit on the top of it as well, and since it's also a tough plastic-type material, that scrapes clean off as well so the run doesn't smell at all either! Also, I use no litter inside the coop (I have wood chips outside), but the roosts are low enough that the chickens don't need any padding to come down off the roosts. This saves me time and money, and for folks who want to use the poop to make compost tea is very helpful as well. As for pests, I did find some mites once, but because the roosts are also plastic (and rather rectangular which is better for their feet in winter), I just wiped them down with soap and water, and wiped in the roost holders and they were taken care of. I included some pictures of the inside of the coop so you can see the boot trays (they don't go all the way across so I have two with one resting on the other where they overlap), and the front with the Omlet automatic door in grey. I also put a pic of the boot trays so you can see what I use, but any ones would work. The only problem I had was trying to find an automatic coop door that fit this rather tall opening, but after searching we got an Omlet automatic coop door (which is very reliable) and it fits perfectly. We bought this from Petco when it was on sale plus another 20% off, so it was very worth it. I would recommend this to anyone who just wants a flock on the smaller size.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Warped piece of garbage. Don’t waste your money. Petco does not stand behind what they sell. No chance for a refund despite this not living up to the description. Buyer beware.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Bought this 3 weeks ago. Easy to put together. Sturdy enough to move around. Not very secure, there is 1 latch holding the front door shut and a screw to secure the laying box. Plenty of room for my 7 large hens. The roosting pole do keep flipping out of their places, so I am finding the girls end up standing in their poo at night. Would love to hear if anyone has found a quick /easy cleaning method for this. 2 small points of entry and neither is super great for cleaning the space out for a grown adult.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It was easy to put together except a few of the parts did not line up to well. The nesting box broke on the sides a little bit.

So it comes in lots of pieces each numbered but none were wrapped or protected in the box. Once you get it together it’s pretty sturdy but light enough to move around. I added hardwear cloth to the bottom Where holes are I added 2x4 pieces to tops of the roost bars once my ladies were about 3 months old the roost bars just looked too narrow. Also drilled some vent holes a crossed the front above the door. I’m in FL and it’s hot and needed more ventilation. I took off the ramp/door and put on a auto door the Omlet one goes sideways so it was perfect I added wood to fill in the gap from wall to door. I love it. It’s not as easy to clean as I had hoped really miss not having the slide out tray but for the price and great customer service from new age company it’s a good little coop. Iv got 4 RhodeIslandRed crossed with Sumatra in it and could probably add 2 more. Right now 3 sleep on one roost and one alone on the other the ladies are 21 weeks old so I don’t think they will grow or fill out anymore. They have been in this coop for last 5 months now and it’s sturdy but nest box leaks water when it rains. I contacted new age company with email and have been great at helping to get it fixed. For the price I’d buy one again. Just know it needs some work

Yes, I recommend this product.

Easy to erect. Sturdy and fairly easy to clean. Only improvement I would make is to have the roof lift off, there is a lot of bending to clean inside

How many small ducks could fit in this?

will this be big enough for 5 muscovy ducks theres also 2 dozen eggs so probably going to be more ducks?

    1. No definitely too small

What is the maximum nighttime temperature recommended for enclosed chickens.

    1. Thank you for the question. While we are not chicken keeping experts, a quick google search says that chickens prefer to be kept at about 75 degrees Fahrenheit. We would suggest confirming with your veterinarian.

Can you advise inside temperature vs outside temperature?  I see it is designed with a special ventilation to keep it cool and warm. I need to know how hot the outside temperature can be to retain an indoor temperature no higher than 75 degrees?

    1. Thank you for the question. This item doesn't have any special ventilation, but it is ventilated. the unit isn't insulated so we can't really answer the questions you've asked.

Can you add an automatic door to coop and can it be raised off the ground?

    1. The unit has a floor and therefore, theoretically you could raise it off the ground. We are not sure about adding an automatic door to the coop as would need to see if the hinges would line up.

What is interior dimension of ea nesting box?

    1. Hello, Nesting box interior dimension are: 36.2 x 14.6 x 20.4

Is it safe to put heating elements or lights in there for winter? How big is the entrance?

    1. Hello, Yes, a heating element is safe, but be sure that it does not touch the ECOFLEX material. Direct contact with a heating element may cause the material to melt or burn. The door size is 12.3 inches x 16.3 inches

Would this coop have enough room to house 8 large chickens during the nighttime? During the day they will be free roam just need to make sure all 8 chickens will fight comfortably when it's time to sleep

    1. Yes, the Jumbo Fontana would house 8 chickens for sleeping purposes if they are free ranged during the day

will it fit 4 indian runner ducks

    1. Thank you for this inquiry. With almost 10 SqFt of interior space, it is more than adequate for 4 ducks. Additionally, the ECOFLEX composite is virtually waterproof so the water your ducks enjoy will not harm the material and cause premature failure.

    What are the measurements?

    1. Thank you for your question. Not sure if you are asking for external or interior dimensions so I am including both. Exterior: Side-to-Side: 54 1/8"; Front-to-Back: 46.1/3"; Max Height: 40 1/8". Internal: Side-to-Side: 41 1/4 "; Front-to-Back: 35 7/8"; Max Height: 34 3/4" The differences include the overhang of the roof over the body and the raised flooring from the ground.
