Our vet suggested Composure Soft Chews for one of our dogs. We recently adopted him and he's probably just over a year but acts like a hyper 6 month old puppy. Can we also use it for our 12 yr old dog that takes Prozac for anxiety during those extra stress times like trash day? She also gets Sileo Oromucosal Gel for thunderstorms. Thank you!
Hello, my dog Bradley is approx. 6 years old, a rescue and gets separation anxiety and nervousness in stressful situations such as groomer. He has a mild heart murmur and the Vet originally prescribed a Prozac which I’m not comfortable with. I went to a local pet store and they recommended this pet treat as it has natural ingredients. Would this be okay to give to him before grooming? Thank you, Lisa
Can a 4 month old puppy eat a calming chew?
Good Evening Doctor. I have a 14 yr old Chihuahua who has lost a majority of both his sight and hearing. He has always had issues with severe anxiety, which I have attempted to treat naturally over the years with everything from CBD, to treats tailored to help with anxiety, as well as an extensive list of different tinctures, and calming supplements. However, over the past 8 months, his anxiety has become impossible to manage, and emotionally unbearable for both my poor dog and myself....
Zora has had anxiety issues since we adopted her. Her way of copeing with it, is licking. Not so much herself but her bad the furniture people's skin, not always when people are around, mostly if she's laying in her bed or by herself. And she swollows enough fiber that she has thrown up twice (two different nights) health is good and have ruled out medical cause. We would like to try a natural supplement that would help. Just a suggestion in the right direction! Thank you so much!
What products do you suggest to help a dog with anxiety during fireworks or vet appointments?
My 7 yr old dog has separation anxiety issues. My Veterinarian recommended trying OTC Melatonin 3mg. Can someone recommend a particular brand of OTC Melatonin to purchase? I'm afraid Xylitol made be an ingredient that is not disclosed on the package. I contacted Natures Made. I was told No Xylitol in the Melatonin.
Is it safe to give calming supplements when my dog is already on Gabapentin? She takes 100mg Gabapentin for anxiety every 12 hours. She still gets very stressed when I leave and barks, howls, and scratches. Is it safe to combine with calming chews with ingredients like 100 mg Chamomile, 50 mg Thiamine Mononitrate, 50 mg Passion Flower, 50 mg Ginger, 30 mg L-Tryptophan, 20 mcg Melatonin? Or is there another safe calming chew you’d recommend? Pheromones have not worked. Ideally to be taken daily.
Alrighty. So my older dog(10 yr female mini schnauzer) has become increasingly anxious with age. It’s generalized (includes sound, separation, and then random panic) and there are no health issues causing it other than old age and most likely feeding off my grandmothers dimentia and anxiety. What can I add to her lifestyle to help ease her anxiety and make sure she is comfortable? Please list any treats, supplements, or activities. I am willing to do whatever needed.
Is Zesty Paws calming bites ok to give a 6 month old lab dachshund mix while traveling? Will be in the car for 10+ hrs and she sometimes gets anxious and hyper on shorter rides. Thank you!
Hello, I just got my 13lb one year old terrier mix neutered yesterday. I was wondering if I can give him any OTC calming pills/chew. He was not prescribed anything to be given to him at home such as: antibiotics, sedatives, or pain pills. He is eating and drinking normally however, he is very energetic. I purchased "Pet Naturals of Vermont Calming Chews".... Would this be ok to give him? Ive attached what was given to him during surgery and the ingredients of the calming chews.
Romeo has been taking Naturvet Calming Chews with Melatonin in it. I noticed his stool isn’t as big as usual since being on the chews. This was today. It’s not hard though like consipation. Does this look pretty normal? Thanks!
